Personally, I think the current Grand Slamm locations are perfect, but if there were new locations for the future Grand Slams, which cites and countries would you like them to be in???

here are my picks:

St. Petersburg, Russia - Rebound Ace

Madrid/Barcelona, Spain - Clay

Seoul, S.Korea / Tokyo, Japan - Grass
(or some other Asian countries)

Prague, Czech Republic / Budapest, Hungary - Hard

I think they should have a slam that is on indoor hard courts, we could put that in the Slovak Republic, where Spain and the Slovak team played.

Yeah introduce another surface, maybe indoor carper. This would certainly help serve volley players like Henman and Dent.

your right aj m209, they should have indoor courts in grand slam...
in fact i think they should make all 4 of them indoors so that the weather won't be an factor in the game...
i heard that they're putting up a roof on the Wimbledon center court in 2008 or something...

or the should have the bowser level off of mario tennis

Yeah, that would be funny. I can imagine it, Fed hits a sharp angle off to his left as the court is tilting that way, Hewitt runs it down but can't stop in time and over the side he goes, into the lava.:p

I am really kind of suprised that Spain or Russia don't have a GS. I think every continent should have a slam, except Antarctica of course.

LOL I got to thinkin' after I posted that and thought "Hey, why don't they put the indoor slam there?" They would just had to make sure that the facility had a major heating system.

I think one of the Grand Slams should be held in Asia... maybe Shanghai, China?

Keep on dreaming...

There will never be any other grandslams other than what currently exist. There is too much tradition. All any other country can hope for is big tournaments like a Master series event or holding the WTA/ATP championship at the end of year. Besides given the pro season, which is already demanding and some say too long, when would another huge tournament be added?

Why not one in each continent? What about one in South America?

Why would they need to add it, why not just take out 2 of the many little tournaments?

The little tournaments are not the problem. The pro calander is scheduled around the Slams, master events and ATP championship at the end. The minor tournaments just fill in between. Right now the schedule just with the major tournaments is pretty full. I suppose one of the masters events could be dropped, but the main reason I don't see it happening is that there is no movement within the WTA, ATP or fan base crying out for another slam.

I betcha there are more people than you think that would like a new slam, like people in Asia, South America, and Africa.

Coetzer on the womens side and I believe that Ferrira was also.

Technically you are correct although I don't think he was looking for white South African players, but I could be wrong.

But Younes El Aynaoui did get to #14 in 2003

Well, he didn't specify that, he just said African.

And there have been others that have gotten into the top 35 like Byron & Cara Black.

**Arazi also got to 22.**

The calendar for players is very tough and there can't be any addition, only reduction instead.

If there is decision to cancel one - which will u chose ?

Let's have 2 Super Bowls and a World Cup every year! C'mon, adding more slams is ridiculous and would take away some of the prestige of the events.

What I do support is that the 4 slams should be played on 4 different surfaces.

Maybe the US or Australia should switch to carpet or astroturf.

I think an ice court would be sweet. Like the ice in a hockey arena. Players would need special shoes but imagine diving for a dropshot from the baseline and sliding ten feet to reach it! Not to mention it would be the fastest surface ever made.

I think we could make that work.;) They would just need shoes like the ones mountain climbers wear, with the big nail like things sticking out of the bottom.

Well then they would ruin the surface. You need the shoes that bobsledders wear that allow you to grip and slide depending on how you lean. I dont think they have spikes on em. I would love to set up a tennis court and try this out on a hockey rink.

Yeah, you're right, it would mess up the court. And that would be fun to play on ice, I gotta try it sometime.:)
