Nike Outlet+Six Month Durability=AWESOME!

I while back I bought a pair of Breathe Free 2's (G.S.O.A.T.) at an outlet for $50 they came with the 6 month durability card. When I wore those out I returned them to the outlet I swapped them out for a pair of CB 1.3 but I had to pay the difference ($34), these came with the 6 month curability card as well. On the receipt for the original return it didn't mention anything about the guarantee. Today I returned the CB 1.3's to the same outlet in hopes that they would honor the guarantee again. THEY DID! I got a third pair of shoes (CB 1.3's again) and this time didn't pay anything, the third pair also came with the durability card and I checked the receipt and it says the same thing as on the first one.

I'm thinking this a fluke because the people at the outlet don't know how the deal works, has anybody else had this happen to them? cause it's AWESOME!!!!

Oh my goodness. You are a genius i'd have never thought of that. Unfortunately i bought my shoes from TennisWarehous :\ but if i don't kill my shoes in the next 5 days i'm getting a new pair from the outlet. THANKS SO MUCH!

So you're saying...

You know how the deal's supposed to work, but you're taking advantage of the outlet store's ignorant employees and stealing from the company...

Gotcha.

You just stole big $ from Nike. Their profits will sink so low that they will not be able to survive if you keep this up mister.

yeah, I've "stolen" a total of the price of 1 brand new pair of Vapors or CB 2.3's, which I'm sure they sell plenty of, technically it's their employees' fault, but I realize that you guys are joking (at least JoalDali was, Austinthecity is just unaware of how much money Nike makes), I was just so elated at this working out I had to share it with the TT community, and considering the fact that my budget for tennis is extremely low (much to my chagrin) cut me some slack (if you were serious-Austinthecity)

Why does Nike making a lot of money justify stealing from them?

Yes, I agree that it was the employees fault... but you're taking away the blame from yourself. You said yourself that you know how the deal is supposed to work.

How is this different from me starting a thread that said:

Guys, I found a great deal at the Nike outlet! If you ask to try on some shoes, then put your old ones in the box and wear the new ones out of the store... you get them for free! Plus, it was totally the employees' fault for not paying attention! (insert comment about Nike making enough money as it is...)

not the same at all, oh and I looked on the 6 month durability card and it doesn't actually say anything about the deal only being good one time, so it's a loophole, it's not actually stealing, stealing is immoral, taking advantage of loopholes just takes intelligence

I'm assuming you mean the Round Rock or San Marcos outlets. One phone call could easily ensure that this doesn't happen again.

My friend uses nikes, and he says that a few times when he sent them in, the shoes came back with a durability card. He called up nike, and they said that if they made a mistake and gave him a card, he can use it again. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I think he said the receipt said that the shoe was purchased with the durability guarantee, but it still worked anyways.

after he got second pair i.e. cb 1.3 new warranty starts on first cb 1.3 (he paid additional $34). He replace that one with second 1.3.

Now second 1.3 shoudn't be replace by nike if they have proper handling in system.

Apparently they don't have proper handling in their system. I think I may go to the outlet next time for this loophole :)

finally, some support, I don't consider it stealing, because it's not like I took the shoes without the store's knowledge, I mean I took them to the cashier and they checked me out, and at the same time I used the last of my tennis funds to buy a Fed polo for $30, so I bought something at the same time, anyways, it's a loophole, and I have practically no money for tennis anymore and yet I still need shoes. I consider myself a decent person and have never stolen anything ever, this is just exploiting a loophole, please cut me some slack

I also forgot to mention that I did have to pay for the second pair partially so this is the first time I got a fully free pair because of the guarantee, so there are pros and cons of doing the exchange at the outlet, cons being that you have to pay any difference there might be in price, but anyways, since I payed for the second pair, this exchange was perfectly legitimate, so ha, to all of the people who were getting on my case

not gonna say i'm any better. i'm a total thief, a blatant one at that. i always tell the person "hey, i'm gonna steal this" then i take it and walk away, cause i'm badA$$ like that =)

You guys do realize Nike has people on the forums now, eh?

Example: TW had to remove the postings of the Nike Fall 2010 stuff because Nike didn't want the pictures to be leaked. Nike knows what you're saying...

i think the saying is loose lips sink ships lol. but yea, i guess there's going to be one massive memo about this.

What do you tell the cashier when you bring them back? When I got a pair rejected by Nike in Oregon saying I had to take it back to the factory outlet, I wasn't quite sure what to tell the cashier.

I just explain to them about the durability guarantee, show them the card, show them the shoes, and explain why I took them to the outlet instead of shipping them to Nike (you're supposed to return shoes bought at an outlet, back to an outlet), it's not like I'm doing anything wrong, there's a loophole, I was aware of it, that's not stealing or anything, but if Nike sees this then they'll probably make sure the durability cards say it's a one time thing. Their other option is to tell Factory store employees to take the durability card out of the box of a replacement pair of shoes

It doesn't sound like you are trying to take advantage of anyone. If you legitimately need the shoes and it will make your life that much better by allowing you to play tennis, I support you in a way. What is the status on your current ballistecs? Are you going to be wearing them out in 6 months also?

it depends on how much I play during the summer, right now I go to a year round academy and play at least 3 hours a day 5 days a week but that "year round academy" doesn't go through the summer so whether or not I wear this pair out is dependent on the tennis alternative I find for over the summer

though i don't think nike would actually stalk you and revoke your return.

I can see Tiger Woods shaking his head now at those who lack the morals and integrity so that they can rip off a company like that.

I just checked the Nike warranty card for a pair of Cage's and it clearly states:

"For the purchase of any one pair of Aix Max Cage there is a limit of one Nike Product Voucher."

Thus, you have to purchase a pair of shoes to claim the warranty. Getting a free or discounted (due to credit from returning a worn-out pair) pair of replacement shoes is NOT "purchasing" a new pair of shoes, thus you should not qualify for the warranty.

BTW, regarding the comment that it's OK to steal from Nike since they make a lot on money, - Would you steal your neighbor's car just because he makes a lot of money?
