Old School Boast logo and first Impressions

Anyone remember the old school Boast clothing line with the mapel leaf logo that looked like a pot leaf?

I was a straight laced kid who played a lot of tennis before we moved to a little town in MS and I made the mistake of wearing my boast tennis shirt we got on sale over to a guys house.

The next day I realized my name was trashed all over town by his mother.
I was shocked, I could not figure out how so many people knew about the shirt over a few hour period but that shirt made a first impression I could not change.


It was a cool tennis shirt but I never wore it again

They are still in business, I always wondered if the "pot leaf" helped or hurt business for them.

HaHaHa. I had forgotten all about the Boast symbol.

When I first started my tennis "career" in high school my brother was in college. When he moved back home following the school year, he brought all of his stuff home with him. Among his acquired possessions was a dark blue Boast tennis shirt and a white Boast tennis shirt.

I assumed the symbol was a pot plant and wore those two shirts to every tennis tournament that I played that summer. No one said anything that I recall so I guess the intended effect fell flat. In my mind, though, I was quite the rebel.

Who would think a little logo on a tennis shirt would make adults judge you?
I could not win, wearing the fake izod (fox) logo got me trashed by the kids and the Boast got me trashed by all their parents

It was not like I said, forget that Izod, I want the fox shirt from sears.
I think that we got that after I realized my begging for the izod was futile.
Between the fox shirt, the fake stan smith shoes and the levi "seconds" jeans with the tag cut off purchased at a place called Goofs, it's fair to say I did not have it going on.

You're right though, I would have been better off not getting the look alike style things but I guess I could not resist trying to look a littlebit in style.
Before that I had the fake converse so I pretty much knew the back to school drill.

In 1970s-80s tennis circles that brand and logo were well known...so that is why no one said anything. They all knew it was a Boast shirt and that the logo was a maple leaf.

Nice find! (Although I can't seem to connect to it.) I had assumed they went out of business years ago. I don't think I've seen anyone in one of those shirts since around 1990. I'd like to get one to wear when I use my Weed racquet.

I was at a Futures yesterday and one of the players (I think it was Conor Pollock) was sporting a nice looking Boast shirt !

Man this stuff is way old school. They've got the wind jackets, 5" diaper shorts and everything. I do like the logo though, that's pretty cool. And if they make stuff that isn't old school I might buy it.
