Prince Model 1/SAM SP-1 oscillation?

For the owners of the Prince Model 1, what does the sweep switch on the control panel do? Is it an adjustment for the width of the sweep or is it a toggle between two widths? I am confused because the mastersports and SAM websites (manufacturers) state that the adjustment of the sweep width is added when you move up to Model 2, but the pictures on the SAM website and description on other websites suggest that Model 1 also has sweep adjustment(or at least the switch on the control panel).

Also, I am comparing the Model 1 to the Lobster Elite. Does the Model 1 lob adequately high? In the accessories section of the SAM website ( www.samtennis.com) it has a "Lob Enhancer." Has anyone tried this? Thanks for your help.

Hey Chris,

I have the SAM SP4 machine in Sydney Australia and have been using it for some time now. My machine has a sweep on/off switch as well as wide and narrow button... but then again i have the top of the line machine which i can also change any setting off the remote control.

Why don't you email the SAM directly to find out?

Prnce Model 1

I have the Prince Model 1 and it is stricly an ON/OFF switch for the for the sweep. The width is pre-set to hit 3 or 4 places randomly in Sweep Mode.

As per the Lob Mode. No, it does not do an adequate job of doing that. The elevation control does not allow it to go high enough. I haven't tried propping it up to get it higher but even if I did it would just throw to the same spot all the time because it couldn't sweep when it was propped up.
