Putting CAP grommets on a Pro Tour 280

I'm trying to put CAP grommets on a Pro Tour 280 for the first time. I've put regular grommets on the Pro Tour before and I've always gone from the head to the throat. That method isnt working with the CAP grommets. It seems going from the throat works better, but I've broken two while using an awl to try to get the grommet thru the holes. Which way should I be going, H to T, or T to H. Also, would it help to put the grommets it hot water. I've read that makes them more pliable.

Also, these are for a LM Prestige MP. The grommets dont go all the way thru at first. I dont know if they'll seat better after being strung the 1st time, or if they're supposed to go all the way thru immediately. I've put CAP grommets on a prestige b4, and I'm pretty sure the grommets went all the way thru the first time.

thanks

go throat to head and they should go all way through. try heating the grommet with a hair dryer to make it more plyable when installing it.

Unless someone has put LM Prestige MP CAPs on a Pro Tour 280 before, it is impossible to tell if the grommets should go all the way through prior to stringing.

I know that I have put several grommet sets (CAPs and regular grommets) on racquets where they did not go all the way through - and looked like there was no way that they would, even after stinging - but as soon as I started pulling the tension on the stringing machine, the grommets came through just fine.

All this to say that the only way to know for sure is to string it and see. If some grommets are a little short, you can always tube them. It'll cost you a string job, but after that, it'll be smooth sailing.
