Racquet recommendation for my gf

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find the right racquet for my girlfriend. She is using the Blade V8L (285g 330mm balance) and it seems to be too heavy for her. Previously she used Pure aero lite, which she found too stiff. So I think the right racquet would be between 270-280 gramm which is not too stiff. She has a full strokes. She is 49 kg, so a little more power oriented than the blade 8 would be great.

Thanks if you share your opinion!

I would go for the Head Speed Team L. It's 275g and should be a little less stiff than any similar Babolat (their Pure Strike Team is 69, the Speed L is 66). When I was beginning and needed a light racket, I used a Speed S (which is now called the Team, and is a tad heavier than the Team L) and it was a great, forgiving, easy to use stick.

Keep in mind, the weight of a racket gives no indication of its stiffness. They're different measurements. There are rackets that both weigh 305g but one has a stiffness rating of 60, while the other is closer to 70. So look for a lower RA number for a more flexible feel. And for someone who swings out fully and wants a light, whippy frame, she should really dig the lighter Head rackets like the Speed Team L.

head speed team L shows 265 g and 340mm balance for me

Don't know how serious your gf plays tennis, but if you aren't looking to break the bank and want a light, simple racquet the babolat boost ones are pretty good options as well

What kind of racket?? Well, what does she look like? Just kidding. I would seriously look at a Yonex EZone 105. A little bigger sweet spot, a little higher power, good spin and adequate control. Downside--It t'aint cheap
