Sampras, Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic, tournament before their Grand Slam win

Sampras seemed liked the rare player who did not need to do well in a tournament leading up to a Grand Slam to gain confidence to win it compared to Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic.

Looking at their records:

Sampras - Before 5 of his 14 Grand Slam Championships, he won the tournament before the Grand Slam.
Federer - Before 11 of his 17 Grand Slam Championships, he won the tournament before the Grand Slam.
Nadal - Before 7 of his 14 Grand Slam Championships, he won the tournament before the Grand Slam.
Djokovic - Before 2 of his 11 Grand Slam Champions, he won the tournament before the Grand Slam.

Well, Federer always played Halle before Wimbledon. Djokovic always plays the FO before he plays Wimbledon. We know how many Halle/Wimbledon doubles Federer has and how Djokovic FO/Wimbledon double statistics looks like. Also Nole had much success in Cincinnati. That's a pretty senseless statistics, tbh.
