I like wearing light sunglasses for tennis but after this accident:

I was thinking this would have destoyed my glasses and prob put glass in my eye.

Funny, on this day, before the accident, I had been thinking of putting on some cheap glasses in my bag, but with big plastic frames, as they were the only ones I had on me.

I didn't bother, but now think that strong framed glasses muight prevent injury.

Esp. when you read about these eye accidents here

Can anyone recomment strong framed sunglasses in case of accident?

That is a freaky story. I haven't heard of an eye injury as bad as that before! Oakley makes a frame that you can buy with clear lenses and prescription. The clear are of course much cheaper. Here is an older image of Janko Tipsarevic in his prescription Half Jackets. They are still available. http://www.tennisidentity.com/tennisidentitycom/2008/02/its-not-often-y.html

I've tried the Bolle's and like them as well. One of my team is loving them for platform tennis where everything is a lot more compact.

Please make sure that any glasses you use on the court are "shatterproof".

Wiley-X is the undisputed leader in ballistic eyewear, but some people don't like the style or the fit. There are lots good glasses out there, just make sure that they are "shatterproof".
