Reading the sports pages today the narrative is Nadal is a shadow of the player he was and Djokovic is last of big 3 left near his best. Much talk about how sluggish Nadal looked and referencing the two Major losses this year both quite similar.
Swartzman actually probably did for Nadal. I raised it at the time of the match but he was winning 2 out of 3 rallies over 9 shots. Nadal was visibly tired in that match. He then went ultra aggressive which Diego did not adjust to.
Djokovic and his coaching staff would have spotted it though as would Tsitsipas and Zverev.
Last year FO in October helped Nadal massively in hindsight as because it was so slow he could get to balls easier so was less tiring.
