The Definitive O3 Tour MP vs. Ozone Tour Blog

There are many O3 Tour players here that would like a comparison of the O3 Tour vs. the Ozone Tour racquets, myself being one of them. The specs on both racquets are very similar. So for all those out there that have played with both, can you give us a compare/ contrast of these two racquets in terms of feel, power and control? This would be greatly appreciated.

I like the Ozone Tour slightly better. It felt very similar except the grip size was a little bigger (which suits me) and it feels a bit more resistant to twisting when hitting stab returns against big servers.

I also really like the Ozone Pro Tour and might try the OPTT next.

The racquet specs are exactly the same for both racquets. I suspect that it's only a paintjob upgrade.

IMO, ozone tour feels slightly stiffer and more stable/powerful than the O3. The flex ratings of TW do not back me up, but this is what I felt having played them both.

Someone told me that the Ozones were made from cheaper materials. not really sure though. Does anyone know their composition?

O3 Tour & Ozone Pro Tour

Ok, the hard throat grommet gives the Ozone Tour a more solid feel and better stability.

I owned 2 O3 Tour's and played them for a while before selling them. I currently own a Ozone Pro Tour. I totaly agree with the quote above. If you want more feel and feedback, string with the hard grommet. I liked the O3 Tour with the exception of the extremely muted feel. With my Ozone, I get much better feel without a harsh feeling. I still don't get quite the feedback as with my Wilson or Head racquets, but it is very close for a O3 racquet. Also, I like the weight of the Ozone Pro Tour better than the Ozone Tour or O3 Tour. Just a personal preference, but it adds the stability I am looking. The Ozone Pro Tour is my favorite Prince racquet that I have tried to date and I have demoed/owned several models from the past few years. I also like the original O3 White with the hard grommet, with the exception of the weight. It was extremely light compared to what I normally play.
