Topspin Backhand

I recently learned how to execute a one handed topspin backhand. I've been able to get a good amount of spin on the ball, but there are two things I need help on, power and speed. My topspin backhands lack both power and speed. My hits have good topspin but are extremely slow and weak. I was wondering if there are any tips on how to increase the power and speed of my topspin backhands.

you probably don't hit through it enough. you need to absorb the ball with the racquet on contact, then extend and lift. you shouldn't worry about topspin for the 1 hander since, for most skilled players, it is a shot that is more flat, esp. compared to the two hander. But you don't want to hit it to flat cause then you will be pushing the ball. also hit the ball early, really helps keep the ball in the court

Without seeing your actual stroke, there could be a myriad of problems.
But usually, hitting the ball flatter, but with a little topspin, gives you ball speed, pace, and more depth.
All the variables can change your striking, from grip (usually eastern forehand) to grip size, racket prep, body turn, speed of the swing, arc of the swing, just too many variables without seeing where your stroke currently is....

Yes, you must drive THROUGH the ball from low to high. it is not just a matter of hitting up or "brushing" the ball. Hitting through is the key.
