well the unique leadtape claims that their 1/4 wide tape weighs .25grams per 4 inch strips.

Is this correct? so four 4inch strips only gets me 1 gram? this seems odd.

Ive seen on other websites that 4 inches= 1 gram.

I've used Unique, and I believe the package, which says it is 4 inches/half gram, or 8 inches per gram. So, for example, 32 inches centered at 3 and 9 (4 strips of 8 inches, one layer, both edges, both sides, since it's so thin) would give you 4 grams, or about 0.14 oz. Add another layer on top of the first and you've added a total of about 0.3 oz. It's better if it's light and thin -- a little lead goes a long way. It also lets you spread the weight over a longer distance, which messes up the weight distribution less than piling on a lot of weight at a concentrated location. This goes for the handle or anywhere else on the racquet, too.

I'm off lead for now. I've added weight and altered balance with leather grips.
