Met Brian Gottfried in Cincy this year. Still very fit. Nice guy. So I'd say his generation is better. Throw in Connors, who achieved more than all the other combined... Well, there you go.

If we close it at 70´s, we have Gerulaitis with 2 majors, Tanner with one and Connors with 7, that is a combined of 10 against Ashe with 4 and Smith with also 4 majors.

These two generations are very very tight but you will be probably right

I would add Pasarell and I would add Sandy Mayer.

Second group for sure, the first group had Richey, Ralston and too many others that were close but no cigar

Bobby One, you won´t believe it but I just left them just out by a pubic hair.I was trying to round it to 10 players and Pasarell for the first group and Sandy for the second came inmediatley to mind.

But, I honestly think that, compared to the rest of their mates, they really were a notch below ( like Froehling or Dupre, for example)
