Which pro players have you met and what was your impression of them?

guys listen very carefully......nice people are not always your friends, mean people are not always your enemy. As you get older and more experienced in life you may find that the reverse is true more often than not.

Ted Bundy was a nice guy to most people before he killed them.

Jimmy Conners was a Jerk and did more for growing tennis than anyone. As far as I know he never killed anyone.

Nobody is nice all the time.

Professional tennis players are all basically self absorbed exitholes. They are spoiled rotten by their families and think only what they want matters. There are very few that have class and stay proffesional. A lot of this is because they are basically uneducated children in an athletes body. Most have never had a job they had to work everyday even if they hated it, were sick, or hurt.

Guga was a good person. Gave his trophy to his ******** brother. That kind of stuff is rare in professional sports.

If you want to admire someone look at the people around you who work endless crappy jobs to give their families a better life. Worshipping some spoiled athlete or celebrity and trying to emulate them is childish. Christ is the exception. Jesus was the greatest badass of them all. Unbreakable and walked it like he talked it.

Not trying to get religious with you guys but if your going to commit go all the way.

I´ve met Sharapova once
I've met Tomic, Darian King and Kokkinakis.
All very nice, Tomic was walking around outside the Kooyong classic with a juul in his hand (lol) and was actually a very friendly, chilled out, polite bloke, (preceded to tell me all about his wild plans for the evening).
Darian was surprised I knew who he was (he was in the supermarket just down the road from the Aus Open tournament site) yet also came across as very laid back and friendly, seemed like he appreciated the support
Kokkinakis was a lovely guy, very relaxed and funny, yet did have a slight edge of cockiness to him (don't really blame him, every girl in the bar we were in was throwing themselves at him - was insane) great guy though

Thai Son Kwitowski on the other hand seemed pretty arrogant, wasn't a huge fan
I´ve met Sharapova once. All i can say is that it wasn´t that hard to say goodbye the next morning… She did ok though...
Was a bit sad when i watched her still limping a bit on her next match… I should have been easier on her...
She is ok now...

My two closest encounters with pro players, both on Estoril Open:

1- Me and my coach were waiting on the line for a break to get inside, heard a little buzz behind us, we look back, and Stan the Man himself was waiting just like us, right behind us. Back than my my coach was Yonex rep here in Portugal, so he (my coach) was using full Yonex clothes and shoes, so we all shared a look and a smile. The guy seems more of a rugby player than a tennis player. Very stocky build, large shoulders, and that funny red nose we all know about

2- This time was with Delpotro himself, he was leaving a practice court , alone (I mean with no security) and a swarm of kids was running behind him. Funny thing is everyone wanted an autograph but seems no one had the balls to ask him, so my coach (again...) tells them "what are you waiting for, stop him and ask for those autographs", and Delpo must have heard him, so he immediately stopped, put his bag down, and signed autographs for everyone. Seemed like a very cool, easy going guy.

Estoril Open is a small event, so having close encounters with pro players is a common thing, I found them everywhere, with no security around. The string booth is next to a Wilson stand, I know the top guy there, a very nice guy, and a very high quality racquet technician called Rui Neves, I already had the chance to look closely to some of the players rackets, and chatted a bit about their set ups, that's always cool
