Will Vaidisova make a comeback?

Well, Nicole retired a few years back to supposedly focus on her family life outside of tennis. However, now that her marriage to Stepanek is ending and Nicole has been replaced by none other than another Czech female player in Petra Kvitova, will Nicole's passion for the sport re-ignite?

I personally always thought she was more talented than Kvitova. At only 17 she had made 2 slam semis, beaten numerous top players, won several titles (is one of the youngest players in history to win a tournament I believe) and reached a ranking of #7 in the world during a very strong era of WTA tennis. They play virtually identical games (ignoring Kvitova's lefty status) centered around huge forehands and strong baseline play, but at her peak Vaidisova had one of the best serves around and seemed to be a mentally tougher competitor than Petra week in and week out.

What do you guys think? I personally don't think it's very likely as Nicole has seemed content to stay away from tennis in the recent years, however she has always been one of my favs and she is only 24! If she decided to come back she could still have nearly half a decade of good tennis left to play. I'd love to see it happen....with the current crop of top girls, Nicole Vaidisova could easily slot herself into the top 10 and remain there.

Yes, but it will take a year for her to get into shape. and that Nasty Worm has abused her body so much,,, it may take even longer...

She seemed to lose all her motivation once she made enough money to be able to live a life of luxury for the rest of her life. I doubt Radek had much to do with it, her career was already in the gutter by then, and he was a convenient excuse to quit.

you beat me to it....a lot of years off though...still, considering the women's game after Serena and her ability to actually serve, as well as blast some groundstrokes, who knows..i was disappointed and bewildered when she left....less so than Henin but she had her slam victories

I agree. she had firepower. if she can only straighten out the 6 inches between her ears she'd go far (but we could say that about a lot of the wta tour). still, I don't think there's a reason she couldn't come back.
