Every Manic Monday has at least one surprise 4Rer (2019 had five unseeded players!). This year it’s the tall Belarusian with the unique double “I” initials. He’s going up against a very strong player on the lawns, #7 seed Matteo Berrettini.

Big Berry is well rested, having chosen to play just one warm up tournament on grass, which he won (Queen’s Club’21). He has lost just one set in his three matches in week 1.

Ivashka has taken the exact opposite tack, having played three warmups (from qualies every week!) and going 10-4 including qualifying. His best result was QFs at Eastbourne; his best win was 2R in week 1 here, taking a solid Jeremy Chardy out in 4 sets.

Bookmakers have Big Berry favored at a strong 1.14-5.95.

Who ya got? Discuss or disgust.

Boom Boom Teeny Bopper to continue his impressive grass run, perhaps dropping one set to the in-form fast-rising Belarusian.

The Italian seems to have a nice GF that has his back.
She does not seem like an IG model or porn star.
This will help him in his career.
He seems to have a very good head on his shoulders.
A very Handsome fellow Italian.
Of course. ;);)

Man from U.N.C.L.E co-star Ilya “Don’t call me Kuryakin” Ivashka gets a solo set in a TB but Berry smoothies are my favorite. This time in 4.

Quite mediocre so far. Berrettini not doing anything too poorly or too well and taking the 1st set

Yeah...Berrettini might not even need any tiebreakers for this one. He seems dialed in while Ivashka has given up breaks early in the first two sets.

Ilya going away quickly now with a set down and two break hole dug. Gave too much credence to the idiot Gross vlogger calling Ivashka a possible surprise candidate on Manic Monday.

Ivashka tried to bring the second set back into play with a well earned break but Berry bounced back with a rebreak for a 6-3 second set. Two to the Roman. The Minsky must try to find plan C now or cash out.

He's not really had a difficult draw but the way Berrettini is sweeping through the draw after his Queens title is deff something to watch out for and if Zverev can get through too, that could be a really good match. Both playing well.

Sorry, I meant favourite to get to the final. Yeah will be tricky to get past Zverev I think.

Either way that certainly seems like it will be a match to watch from the potential QF match ups. Also it's really nice to see the seeds holding fairly comfortable at Wimbledon so far, obviously Tsitsipas didn't but after so many early exits from top 10 players in past Wimbledons. It's refreshing to see 7 of the top 8 still in the tournament. Really hope that is still true tomorrow.

Lets see how everyone plays today, we will have a better understanding then. I don't put him as fav just yet, considering the draw he has had. His test begins now.

I don't know. The guys he's been playing have made him look awfully good. He really has that slice backhand working.

Yep. I need to see his quarters first.

I agree. All the seeds have held up bar tsitsipas so far. It makes it very competitive and no player has an easy draw. I believe Zverev v berrettini could go 5 sets if it happens. On current form there’s not much between them. We will see though.

I agree with that analysis. Yeah he’s swept through the draw but he’s had an easy set of opponents. It’s huge step up in quality if he faces Zverev. That will certainly tell us more on how far the Italian has come in last 2 years.

First Italian in the Wimby quarters since... you guess it - Dangerous Dave Sanguinetti in 1998.

Hope (but doubt) we can make it two tonight.

Berrettini is looking good. Serve, forehand and that wicked backhand slice all on point. No one wants to face him.

Well, he's not playing Zverev but FAA. Felix is through to a slam QF for the first time; we'll see how he handles the occasion.
True. FAA surprised me beating Zverev. He proved he’s ready for the next step. The young Canadian is dangerous here and will push Berra I feel. Berrettini is favourite based on experience and he’a fresher but this match could easily go either way.
