Yonex Players with Shoes/Apparel Brands

How come many great Yonex players don't have big-bucks Clothing/Shoe Brands signing them?

I mean Nalbandian? This guy is amazing, one of the greatest ball-strikes of all time, and can single-handly eliminate the "Top 3 Gods" in two consecutive tournaments.

And he signs with Yonex? Too Fat? Bad image?

Next, What happened to Lleyton Hewitt? Yea i know he isn't that #1 Player in the World status, but "wth?" Nike keeps Carlos Moya and Thomas Berdych, while Lleyton last year was not even playing worse then these guys.

Too feisty and loud? I thought companies love these guys.

Elena Dementieva? Pretty, has the altitude, and is a top 20 player, yet she also lacks the big advertising and high-paying apparel brand to back-up. Yes, she doesn't have a Grand Slam or final appearance, but the image is enough to sign her? But a Chinese, but excellent player, Na Li has a Nike contract.

Why?! WHY SUCH PLAYERS I LOVE NOT WEAR THE NIKES OR THE ADDIDDDOSSS?!!!!

Well maybe they are paid a lot of money by Yonex too. I for one love Yonex products and the fact that they don't sell them everywhere is a plus. I buy Adidas clothing too but I just can't stomach Nike, so common and generic looking, fits horrible( well that's a separate issue). Even when you watch a tournament you see these clones playing against each other. Yes Yonex color schemes can be bright but it's different and the fit and color of Yonex products(clothes) wouldn't really attract a lot of US consumers.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Yonex clothing. In fact Yonex makes their clothing with Xylitol (made from white birch trees) which lowers your body tempature by three degrees. They are very comfortable and not cookie cutter shirts like most of the big companies put out. Although I would like to state that for some reason Yonex has sized their shirts a full size larger than last years. I would recommend buying a size smaller than in previous years.

Ummm... Dementieva has been in 2 GS finals... and she is a top 10 player...

The Yonex pros are paid well--that's why there are not many of them. And FYI, the 'big-buck clothing/shoe brands' don't pay out big to all their contract players. In fact very few of them get paid what Federer, Nadal, Sharapova, Williams, Ivanovic or Djokovic get--some don't get paid anything at all...

thats right every company has their own level of endorsement deals depending on the player, level of play, ranking, continuos big grand slam & tournament appearences etc etc.. most of the journey mans dont get big money from sponsorships and they take clothing free and stuff like that, and players like nalbandian and hewitt prefer to be a big fish in a small pond than a small one in a big pool (nike, adidas etc)

I love Yonex clothing. I have like 4 shirts, 2 shorts, 1 pair of shoes. As someone up there said, the fact that they can't be found everywhere is a big plus.

I like the color schemes Yonex chooses, besides the excellent quality their stuff has.
