Hey guys I am looking to buy a Yonex players OS (super midsize 105). I would appreciate any information on these racquets. I know there is the RD-23, RD-27, and RD-70 long 105, but I don't have much info on them, nor do I know of any others.

Was there ever a 105 version of the RDX500 made? Can any Yonex gurus give me a timeline/stats/any info on the generations of RD players 105's?

Thanks!:)

I can tell you that it's been quite a few years since Yonex made any players frames this large. The last one I can think of (and I could be missing one) was the RD Power 10 Long. It ran in the line from the very late 90's through 2001 in Japan. Nothing since that I'm aware of, I'm VERY sad to say. They also seem to have given up production of any player's frames longer than standard. Was chatting with the reps yesterday and they aren't aware of any plans to bring them back.

The Power 10 Long 105 was nothing like the 95 version. I know, because I first tried the 105 and after 2 or 3 games, put it down in disgust. Reluctantly, I grabbed the 95 version next, thinking 'why bother?'

Well, I ended up using the 95 version for ~ 3 years, and would still be using it had they not discontinued it...

True, they play(ed) very differently. But that wasn't the question. The OP was asking for Yonex player frames in 105 and that's one of 'em. And I'm with you on the 95 being a great racquet. Shame they went by the wayside!

Great post. Love the detail. Where did the spec info come from? It's also worth noting that since Yonex did proportional weight/balance (in relation to grip size), those numbers only apply to whatever size was used for the specs.

That's info from an archived TW site... I was looking for specs of my newly acquired Pro RD-70 95 Long and TW had them along with the 105 version so I got this info also...

Thanks for the great info on the RD-70 Automatix, and thanks for the link In-D-Zone.

The Yonex page had some good info on the RD-22, but it didn't have the weight or flex. Can anybody help there?

Thanks!

Do anyone actually play with the
RD-70 Long 105? Would you recommend it to someone for their step-up racket after their begginer racket?
