djokovic will have to pass by murray and gauquet before he gets to fed, those wont be easy matches.
I think Murray and Gasquet are easier than for example Ferrer and Nalbandian, especially on this surface. So djoko can't complain.
I don't know but why Roddick and Blake always skipped this event each years?

Seems like a pretty straightforward draw for Fed till the semi-final where he could meet Djokovic. Hope he can get out of his rut.
Nadal potentially needs to go through Ancic, Ferrero, Ferrer, and then probably Davydenko or Almagro to reach the final....to meet Nalbandian.
I haven`t seen Nalbandian that impressive lately,in davis cup he barely beat Soderling on clay.
Murray-Djokovic would be a very interesting matchup in the 3rd round.
Hopefully it's more competitive than previous encounters from last year. They were nothing short of straight beatdowns by Djokovic.
Explain to me why you think Nalbandian will reach the final. I like Nalbandian a lot, but I see federer and Djokovic as the two favourites to reach it. Please explain why you disagree, or are you just trying to annoy Djoko's and Fed's fans?Nadal potentially needs to go through Ancic, Ferrero, Ferrer, and then probably Davydenko or Almagro to reach the final....to meet Nalbandian.

Same reason as every other year. It's a long time to be living out of a suitcase...between now and the end of Wimbledon, in Europe, far from "home".

Nice to see Ancic in the draw, despite the fact that he'll get destroyed by Nadal if he wins his opener.
It's sad to see Querrey as the only American in the draw. If you're a professional athlete, why wouldn't you want to go to Monte Carlo to play tennis? It's beautiful there.
Well there are other places in that area that I'd rather be, Nice included.
BUT, if you compare Monte Carlo to the other prestigious ATP tournaments, it's at the top of the list in terms of environmental beauty. The Medterranean is still the Mediterranean.
And Andy Roddick can afford the amenities the city has to offer.
Is there a doubles equivalent to the entry ranking system that seeds singles players? Can't find it anywhere. If it doesn't exist, why are the Bryans seeded first, and Erlich/Ram second?
It will be last weeks Davis Cup all over again for the Bryans. To get to the quarterfinals, they need to get past TWO French teams. Either Benneteau/Mahut or Mathieu/Santoro in the second round (they have a bye in the first round), and most likely Clement/Llodra in the third round. Almost makes me want to hop on an airplane to see some good dubs. To bad I have to work.
I prefer the way I explained it better. :lol:Yup, just like Gasquet who bailed at the Davis Cup. I agree that they both should at least try. It is, however, only a lousy clay tournament. No one in the USA cares anything about clay, since it is only 1/3 of the season.
So, if I understand you correctly, they take the individual players rankings, add them together, and seed based on that? That works.
...they do keep doubles rankings only for single players as you saw, not for teams. I guess they have a way to calculate...
