    Buying another Klippermate clamp!

If you really want to treat yourself for father’s day, I would suggest you buy Stringway clamp, which are acknowledged to be more superior to other flying clamps. But something tells me you are not going to consider that as all your posts are biased towards Klippermate.

When cutting out strings, mount in stringer?

I believe stress on the frame will be exactly the same. Moreover, you will concentrate the stress around those six mounting points, instead of letting the racquet distribute it along the frame. So, you would be actually doing it more harm than good.

Help w/mounting issues on the X-2

Yup, I would have to agree, most probably need to tighten the frame clamps. Obviously, don’t go overboard, but you have consider that you are applying a lot of tension, so the forces holding the frame must be able to withstand that tension.

Starting Crosses w/ Flying Clamps (no double pull)

Okay, so I did complete my first stringing job yesterday. I ended up stringing my older/cheaper racquet, only because I broke the string on it yesterday. In any event, the stringing process wasn’t bad at all, but it took me a little over two hours. I am pretty sure I can complete my next...

Starting Crosses w/ Flying Clamps (no double pull)

Well, here on TW the new prestiges are still $180 apiece. I would probably get another one if I could find a new one for $100. I think you have me convinced to restring the old one first. I guess it just won’t be as much fun, since I know I will never play with that stick…

Starting Crosses w/ Flying Clamps (no double pull)

The OS frames are 110”. I only touch them if I break strings on Prestiges, which are 98”. Precisely, you don’t have to start in the middle to use finishing knots on both ends of your crosses.

Starting Crosses w/ Flying Clamps (no double pull)

You scare me now. The process looks very straight forward. I do have a starting clamp in case I will fall a bit short on string. I can see how it can take a longer time, since I never strung before, but how can I make a mess of things? Also, my older/cheaper frames are 16X19 oversizes, but...

Starting Crosses w/ Flying Clamps (no double pull)

Thanks Irvin! I watched a bunch of videos and feel fairly confident stringing my first racquet. Would it be a mistake to string my main (expensive) stick first? I don’t feel like cutting out the sting on the other frames just so I can train.

Starting Crosses w/ Flying Clamps (no double pull)

This won't work. In this video he is using a stringer with the fixed (not flying) clamps, that he can lock in place and pull tension. As I stated I have a Gamma X-2 (flying clamps). Thanks though.

Starting Crosses w/ Flying Clamps (no double pull)

I just purchased Gamma X-2 and GSS starting clamp. I am trying to find a "how to" video on starting crosses without double-pulling. I do not want to use a starting knot. Am I correct to assume that the process is essentially identical to the one YULitle uses in this video to start mains...

    Avoiding shipping charges ?

Eagnas PP-600 starting clamp is reasonably priced @ $17.95. I thought they offer free ground shipping, not like I need it tomorrow. Well, the sipping is actually $8. Does anyone know if there is a 3rd party selling these with free shipping? Are there any other starting clamps that are priced...

Roger Federer V Novak Djokovic Semi Final

I am not saying Roger, in his current form, is capable of beating Rafa or Novak, but you cannot say “even if he earns a win against Djoko, there is no way he can beat Nadal”. If he finds the game that will allow him to beat Djoko (who beat Nadal in their last four encounters) that game must be...
