Andy Murray is an ATG in the parallel universe?

Murray failed to become an ATG in this universe because having the ATG consistency is just not enough when you don't have the ATG peak level of play. However, there has to be the universe where he did have the ATG peak level of play. Or maybe not, but what if peak Murray played in the weakest era in the parallel universe? He reached 11 Slam finals in this universe. Maybe he managed to win 6 in some other universe thanks to the weakest era or his peak level being higher.

Wont happen. Federer and Nadal will win the AOs as injury patterns will change for them. Even in years like 2011 or others you will find Big 3 suddenly playing different. Ripple effects in time causes a lot of things to act differently. Murray is not an ATG in any universe, rest assured.

OP, forget about ATG Murray. I have found a parallel universe in which Caulifla has an OF account.

Let's take a look at top 5 wins at AO + USO (HC slams)

Stan Wawrinka is 9-10 vs top 5 in HC slams.
Andy Murray is mere 4-11

Stan beat Berdych once, Murray twice, Nole thrice, Nadal Nishikori and Medvedev once.
Andy beat Nole once, Nadal twice and Federer once.

Both Stan and Andy beat Nadal who was unfit. But Stan beat Nole who is the HC GOAT 2 times when fit and Andy did it once. If both played each other, and both are fit, money will be on Wawrinka.

Delpo is 4-7 vs top 5 in HC slams. He beat Roger 2 times and Rafa 2 times. Rafa was unfit once and Roger once.

Even Cilic is 4-10 vs top 5 in HC slams. Beating Murray once, Delpo, Fed and Nadal (unfit).

Kei Nishikori is 4-8 vs top 5 in HC slams. Beating Nole Andy Wawrinka and Ferrer. No one was unfit.

So Murray has as many HC grand slam match wins vs top 5 as Delpo Cilic Nishikori. But they all lost less times vs top 5 than Murray.
Stan has double the number of top 5 wins at HC Grand Slams.

On HC Andy Murray would not be able to separate himself from these guys at all. Chances will be that Nishikori and Delpo would not get injured constantly and Cilic and Stan would beat Murray many times on HC slams.

Now lets go on clay courts. Without big 3.

Murray has 1 top 5 win in roland garros. He beat Wawrinka in 2016. He is 1-5
Wawrinka is 3-8 beating Federer Murray and Djokovic.
Soderling is 2-4 even though he retired early.
Tsonga is 3-5 vs top 5.
Berdych is 1-2 beating Andy Murray.
Gonzalez is 1-4 beating Andy Murray.

Even on clay he would not be able to distinguish himself. I am not sure he will win vs the group even on clay.

We are left with grass and here Murray has the upper hand.

Murray is 3-5 vs top 5. He has won vs Roddick in 2006 in R32 but quickly lost to Baghdatis. But he has ok win vs Ferrer and 1 win vs Djokovic.
Berdych is 3-6
Delpo is 2-5

This is one slam where Murray will have some more success. He already won without facing big 3 slam at Wimbledon 2016. So its possible Murray wins here.

Overall Murray might win 4 wimbledons if we remove Fed/Rafa/Nole everyone. 2010/2011/2012/2013/2015/2016 are the years where he can try his luck. But I wouldn't count Berdych Tsonga and Delpo out from these years as well.

For US Opens, I don't know if he is winning more than 1/2. He has lost to every single scrub here, not just big 3.

French Open, he probably wins 0 times even without big 3.

Australian Open he might win 2/3 slams as well. This is purely a speculation, I have not seen him show the level here apart from 2012/2013. And he never faced Wawrinka who can take him down in 2013. Murray has problem with him just like Nole.

So 4 Wimby + 2 AO + 1 USO, he would be having an ATG career probably.
