Not his best tournament but the SF match was against Stan who wasn't at all bad even if not considered as good as 2015 so that's something. Didn't know Murray in RG 16 F was ever praised heavily by anyone but a few Djokovic fans. lol
One good match is hardly enough to give him a high peak rating IMO.

How about he may not have won 6 Slams but he did win 6 big titles all in Bo5 matches (3 Slams, 2 OSGMs, 1 Davis Cup ie. the proper one). There, settled!
Davis Cup is still good to win but it's team event. You need multiple titles with multiple big wins for it to tie in a lot any way at least IMHO.

Djokovic and Nadal beating him at his own game added with more offense and Fed just offensively bulling him and teeing off winners.

And then Murray's injuries helping 2 of them build bigger leads :(
I have always believed that Andy Murray made a mistake by playing as a counter-puncher.

He is 6'3" and if you look at any other athlete who is Andy's size they always look to play offensively.

The matches that I've seen Andy play brilliant tennis were the 2008 US Open semi-finals against Nadal and the 2012 Australian Open semi-finals against Djokovic.

He lost the latter in five sets, however, Andy was playing smart and aggressive tennis.

He took the ball early off of the return of serve and he wasn't allowing himself to drift back behind the baseline.

These were the matches where I felt like he was legitimately close to being on level with the Big 3.

The guy under-achieved. He could have easily won another two or three grand slam titles.

Kinda strange how they bullied him into beating them in Slams, WTF, Olympics, Masters etc. etc. and on their favourite surfaces too!

True but Murray won every single one of his rubbers at 2015 DC including, most importantly, the final.

Murray is still a great champion and his fans should be proud of his achievements.
