Babolat Tour Duralast 17

[Double Fault]

Tried it today at 54 lbs on an APD to see why Nadal likes this string so much. I am aware that he uses a different gauge, but I have a weakness for 17g string.

All I can say is that I've never tried a string that gives me this amount of spin in such a controlled way. I hope it doesn't go dead as fast as PHT.

If you haven't tried it, I suggest you do. This is looking like it can compete with my favorite poly: Head Ultra Tour 17g.

I tried the 16 and found it to have the worst feel ever. It felt so stiff and lost so much tension fairly quickly. I can't see why nadal likes it so much.

I used the 15L gauge (Nadal's string) and it was awesome for spin.
It plays surprisingly soft too for poly.
It does lose tension very quickly though... so I had to restring a lot.
But Hurricane Tour lost tension even faster when I tried it.

Uruguay's Babolat distributor has some reels of this string in many sizes. I chose 17 because I particularlly like this gauge.

Vitaly, I agree with you when you. The string is very soft for a first-gen poly and it does provide massive spin. I like the lively feel of it instead of the mute PHT feel.

No, it doesn't come in an 18 gauge. It would be nice though.

I used a tension of 52 and it just felt dead after 3 hours of play.

Almost a week later after I tried it I can comfortably say that this is one hell of a string.

I simply cannot generate this kind of spin with other poly's. Say what you want, but this first-gen poly is quickly climbing in my string rankings. It already passed Pro Hurricane Tour and only has to beat Head Ultra Tour.

Ok, so I tried Rafa's 15L. It provides notoriously less spin, but control somehow seemed to be better.

I think I'm going back to the 17 as I prefer the spin.

i used Enduro and found it to give loads of spin, but i really hated the feel of it, and hated stringing it even more. at least duralast looks cool.

Nadal won't care if it loses tension quickly. Example: during the Paris master's he had the most frames restrung with 18 frames.

hey everyone, try gamma's durablast. I haven't tried duralast but i think it's the same thing, just a cheaper grade poly. Going from all the higher grade polys durablast's different feel is somewhat nice. And the price is complementary.

no noticeable difference. both are horrible first gen polys. they lose tension so quickly. there are much, much better newer polys on the market today.
