Will it be McDonald or Sinner???

This has been a very entertaining tournament. While I wish Nadal had gone further I was very happy with the QF's, where all 4 of the players I rooted for won! I was rooting for Brooksby and Nishikori to be in the final, but I am very happy with McDonald and Sinner! I am predicting Sinner but rooting for McDonald!

Sinner in 2 so Double Mac can be fresh for a Paireing of the draw for a second consecutive tournament. If it’s 1R it’s McDonald vs Bennie the Beard.

McDonald will have the special sauce in this one. He beat the returning champion, so I believe he is destined.

The way Sinner is hitting the ball early is very interesting.

There’s a crazy rhythm to this early part of the match with an agonizingly long break of Sinner’s serve sandwiched between two rapid breaks of McDonald’s serve. 4-2 Sinner

Sinner consolidates at 5-2. McDonald is getting into every service game from Sinner so far. He’s low-40s% on 1st point return points despite 5 aces from the teen.

...and that's why I deleted my previous account.

McDonald should ask for Hotel California to be played on the next changeover…”he stabbed me with his steely knives but he could not kill the beast” 5-5 after a crazy hold and saving a handful of set points.

The dam finally breaks

Mac needs to recharge. If he can't get energy back this might be one way traffic
His cumulative court time is a lot higher than Sinner’s, with or without the extra round he played. Sinner did fade a bit yesterday in the dubs SFs but I almost expected a bit of a strategic tank after the first set loss.

I think Sinner has got this in the bag. McDonald is just too inconsistent. Has moments of brilliance, but then flops...

Sinner played a lot of tennis given how far his dubs team played. they had an excellent dubs match on Tuesday. Wednesday, he played in pure sun court. Sinner was looking good. I didnt realize he was over 6’ due to the other taller players in his dubs match.

am impressed by the focus of players on the courts in DC, due to close proximity to fans.

Actually, this was an uncommonly good week for tennis in DC. Much lower humidity than normal as well as lower temps. August is normally horrible with both humidity and thunderstorms. Players lucked regarding both of those this past week.
