Sinner played a lot of tennis given how far his dubs team played. they had an excellent dubs match on Tuesday. Wednesday, he played in pure sun court. Sinner was looking good. I didnt realize he was over 6’ due to the other taller players in his dubs match.

am impressed by the focus of players on the courts in DC, due to close proximity to fans.
2:13 yesterday combined in singles and dubs for Sinner; 2:45 in singles vs Nishikori alone for McDonald. Big difference, even before considering that McDonald was the later singles match yesterday with less recovery time as a result.

We may see who’s got the necessary gas in the tank for a third set and the title.

Pulling for MacDonald! Like to see him win a tournament. Been on the ATP tournament and alway never got to many WCs and sponsorship has been lacking for him too. He alway had to do qualifying to get in. Ranking is 107 and 26 years old. A win here would get him into the 70s, just a guess!

Extra time it is with the deuce game hold by Mac, 5-5. Now at 2:45, equaling last night’s time with Nishikori.

That was relentless from both players. Wonder why Mackenzie Isn’t better on clay, as he sure has the mindset for it. He’s a hybrid of Simon and Schwartzman :)

well done by Sinner to stay in it every time it got tight.

Textbook sin win. Dominate, take a lead, choke, don't let it get to you. Rinse and repeat about 5 times within the same match. Still far from the player I envisioned in Bergamo, but all in all, not too bad for a teen.

Sinner captures the title, 7-5 in the third. He joins JMDP as a teen champion at Washington and could possibly tie the Tower of Tandil at 4 teenage trophies if he grabs the Toronto title this next week, his last as a teenager. Scary stat to consider: even if he does win Toronto for that fourth title as a teen he would just be reaching one-quarter the haul by teenage Nadal. No one will ever touch that record.

Mac to #64! Automatic USO spot.
Depends on where he was after Wimbledon. The cut date is six weeks prior to play. According to live-tennis chart, Mac gained 43 spots this week so he’s on the cusp. Probably within the first half-dozen alternates for MD.

I do not think it will be easy for Sinner to grab a title in Toronto. Much tougher competition.
