Fischer Pro # 1 FT piece of garbage

Based on the specs being 27.4 inches 11.0 oz strung, I was expecting a more playable & powerful Pro # 1 original. What I found was the racquet had less power, less stability, poor feel, and no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

It is too light & unstable for a players racquet, and too little power for a tweener, who is this racquet made for?

Fischer is hurting it's reputation by becoming (gammatized recommending gamma strings at tensions that are unplayable for fischer ie- 50-70 lbs)

and staying in the dark ages by not allowing thier racquets to be sold via internet, it is hard to get accurate racquet specs on thier stuff.

But if you could put up with that traditionally they made a great product ie- Pro #1 original arguably one of the best racquets ever made. But now even thier products have fallen off, do they play test these?

I hope they are making good ski's cause thier new racquets stink.

Finally has anyone hit with the Pro # 1 FT and like it?

i couldn't agree more, the pro 1 ft and pro 1 ft tour (?) and was sorely disappointed in the flimsiness and lack of mass. i had decent control on balls that didn't destabilize the head on impact, but the feel was like hitting a racket made of wet newspaper

i have heard good things about the black and yellow, pro extreme i think it's called

It has been said many times in this (and the old BB) BB....the new Pro #1 FT is nothing more than a 'tweener' and the only thing it has in common with the Pro #1 is its name. It is an insult to the heritage of the Pro #1/VT98 Pro line and Fischer is simply trying to turn it into a PD competitor to grab market share. Trying the FT back-to-back with a 330g Pro 1 or even a 320g Pro 1 is like night and day. IMO even the 320g Pro #1 non-FT was a lot different than the 330g and not in a good way...lighter, less stable, less solid impact feel...but more maneuverable. The Pro Extreme FT is unlike the old Pro #1 in that is it is very stiff and is a 20mm flat beam instead of 25/23/21 taper and flexes little in the throat. Little power but incredible control/precision...but very demanding and much more so that Pro #1.

007 I agree with you it is a tweener trying to grab market share from the PD, but it is a bad one!!!! Wilson Surge, Head LM instinct, PK pro laver S, have all somewhat successfully created a similiar Power/Feel to the PD. If this is fischer's best effort at that market they are in trouble.....the racquet flat out sucks

How would you compare the stiffness between the Pro One and FT version.

Also which is the stiffer between Pro Extreme and Pro One?

Thanks,

Liam

I love mine. It is not as powerful as the Pro Impact FT and not as stable as the original Pro No. One but it is a solid offering between the two. I'm sorry yours didn't work out for you. I have to disagree on the quality - I think their quality is the best but I do think they are making some errors in judgment (i.e. trying to force loyal Pro No. One audience to a new stick that is nothing like the original, not allowing internet sales, stupid naming of some racquets, stupid (1) ad campaign, etc.).
