Insoles that wont change the fit?

can anyone recommend some insoles that won't change the original set of the shoe? I know the Super feet are well regarded. Anything else?I want to just remove the original and soul from my tennis shoes and replace them with something a little more durable but something that won't make them too tight or change the fit. Thanks.

No explicit answer to this question, but I've found that the arch support is built into most shoes so you don't want the insole to supply it as well.

I'd buy something cheap from the supermarket and swap them out as necessary, rather than go down a more expensive route.

I use Superfeet in both my Barricades 6s and Asics Gel Resolution 4s after I get holes in the original insoles.

They work great IMO-

Been using Superfeet since 2004 and they last a long time

I need something with low to medium arches.

Green has always worked for me.

Green really is made for medium to higher arches...gave me some pains as I have medium to lower arches.

Black fits better for me but has less cushioning. Blue however has a bit more cushioning but I found it unnecessary.

thanks for the info. I just found a local store that has the blue, but not the black, so I'll go try them out today. I like extra cusioning, especially under the ball of the foot, so maybe the blue will work?

tried the blue.....felt OK but very firm with very little shock absorbtion. not sure any of the Superfeet would be for me? too firm.

I use black and blue superfeets. The black is suppose to give a lower profile and work well with my dress shoes. On certain athletic shoes I like the black IF the arch support of the shoe is a bit higher. If the arch support is lower, I like the blue.

flat foot user here.

you find the Blue gives enough shock absorbtion and cusioning??? I tried them in my SFX's and it felt WAY firmer than the stock insoles in the SFX's.

I use the green Superfeet, because I have had a lot of issues with plantar fasciitis in the past and they have been great for me. They are a little sparse in the forefoot cushioning though, so I have to use thick socks. The orange Superfeet are more padded under the ball of the foot, so if you can use them it's a good idea, but the heel is too narrow on the orange for me.

The main advantage of Superfeet over other orthotics as I see it, is that the impact of the bodyweight is directed towards the center of the heel, so it doesn't only raise the arch, but redirects the impact for running.

I've tried some gel ones on top of the originals and they wouldn't feet (or rather my feet wouldn't fit anymore in the Nike CB 4.3)

Almost all padded inserts will raise your foot in the shoe, since they are thicker than the stock insole.
I use Superfeet Greens and Purples, UrSoleUltras, PowerstepPinnacleMaxs, and SofSoles, all raising my heels slightly.

Try going up a size for a larger heel, then trim more away from the forefoot.

Jack - blue and green are both fairly firm, blue having the lower arches. If you're looking for more arch support and durability, they're great. They are somewhat shoe dependent though; I prefer the green, but can't fit those in some shoes. If you're purely after added cushioning, then I'd look at something like Sorbothane.

maybe just a tad more...especially when new. once broken in, the padding settles and both are the same and the cushion comes from the shoe more than the insole.

Try Sof Sol heat mold insoles. I've had a couple and actually used the oven to warm them up and get the mold of my feet within the shoe. You don't have to do the oven method and just wear them and let the repeated use of it break in and mold to your feet. They are softer than superfeet by a mile BUT might add more volume/be larger than superfeet.

I think the Power Step insoles would be a good choice. The Pinnacle is well padded and may cause the shoe to feel a little too tight. It depends on the shoe. The original is less padded and makes most shoes feel much better but not tighter in any way. I use both, which one I choose depends on the shoe.

Which Spenco's? TW has a few different types.

Spenco makes a variety of insoles, I got mine at a shoe repair shop, the owner swore by them and showed me the ones he had in his shoes that he'd been wearing forever. They make a variety of different ones, some flat and some with an arch. With shoe inserts you have to play around with them 'til you find what works.

The best one's were the ones that came with the now discontinued Wilson Pro-Staff Classic shoes. It was a very thick rubber with an arch. I saved them when the shoes wore out and put them into new shoes. I have a box of shoe widgets and gizmos to tweak my shoes.
