Leave it, dude. Rafa losing in a Slam isn't that surprising anymore. My memory of Rafa and Roger in recent slams are where they wave to the crowd as they exit the court after losing a match.

Nadal's Back......in the cradle of his mother's bosom being fed a hearty Mallorquin Paella before inviting some old friends around for some poker, later he will look forward to a Monday night kiss and a cuddle with the delightful Xisca.

You guys are scrubs. Do you really think I'm being serious? Am I almost ever serious?

I am glad that you are coming back after nervous breakdown. Don't be shy to use little bit of pharmacology. In 24h you will be old VamosBamos987.

People seem to forget that easy sitter Rafa missed in the fifth set of his 12 hour (it seemed like it) match against Djoker at the AO. Had he made that easy shot, most likely he would have taken the match.

Look at all the sitter FH's Federer has botched in tense moments. Rome 2006 on his own MP was a doozy.

Always in bad taste to mock someone when they're down. Moreso when I'm sure these same posters know they will never ever be able to come anywhere close to the amount of hard work, toil and dedication professional athletes put in to be where they are. It is easy being a keyboard warrior. Try playing in real life and you'll know how much it takes to even win a league match, let alone the pro circuit. I'm a huge Rafa fan but I have said the same for Djokovic, Federer and everyone else and trust me, everyone has had a fair share at losing. Losing is part of the game. But hey, I guess that's TW forum for you :)

Back in Mallorca, maybe. Nadal is turning into Tomic - all talk, little action. Granted, he already did his thing and has absolutely nothing to prove but please stop talking BS about positives when you just lost to someone like Pouille in a Slam.

Not sure how you don't have any frustrations after seeing Nadal choke away match after match. Or any frustrations on Rafa's reluctance to make even a minimal amount of change to his game. Coaching? No. Strategy? No. Technique? No.

These are the qualities of cowards, not champions.

Every time its the same ****ing ****. Hitting balls that don't even reach the service line. Has no pace or percentage on his serve. Hard work isin't the answer. Meaningful hard work and openmindedness is the answer.

I understand your frustration as a fan but it is completely his prerogative to make any sort of changes to his team, gear or tactics/strategy. I'm sure he wants to win more than his fans want him to. Additionally, it does not take away my point that it remains in bad taste to mock. Moreso because I know you have been a fan and are now disgruntled. True fans find positives, understand limitations and stick together. Cheers.

Even Tomic has more balls than Rafa, mate.

I think Nadal is is trying so damn hard to walk in Fed's footsteps circa 2012. He and Don Toni are dying for that limelight based on the logic "If Federer can, sure we can".

If it was as simple as just changing, he would have done it two years ago. He's not stupid. You don't do what he's done being stupid.
This is how he has always known to play tennis. If he were to actually change, he would probably do even worse. Potentially a lot worse.

He doesn't choke, and he has plenty of strategy, coaching, and technique. His strategy, coaching, and technique have won him 14 slams and made him one of the greatest players ever. But he can't be expected to sustain the physicality forever - his body is failing him more now than before. His speed and reaction times have slowed, and that makes all the difference, especially to a player like Nadal who has always relied on these things more than most.

He's Nadal. You can trust that he's trying his best every moment he is playing. You can tell that just by watching and listening to him. Nothing's changed there.
But, physically, he's just old now, like Federer. Both of them still have everything in their head that they once did (except confidence) and they're probably even wiser than they once were, but the reality is that they're not 24 any more.

It must be really hard for Rafa to come to terms with this "new normal" for him - and I think accusing him of being cowardly or blaming him for his own decline is rather unfair TBH.
It isn't his fault, and he could really use the support of his fans right now I think.
Federer is losing early all the time these days too, but he's still Federer. I'm not about to walk away from him just because his winning days are past.

I don't care if they lose in the first round. They'll always be like this to me.

Yes, he is back to choking against lower ranked players.......

I believe he can come back but if he doesn't recover his serve it's going to be tough.

His lower back injury in 2014 was serious blow.

He can't put as much slice as he used to... yet.
