I personally didn't like Fischer because the name, lack of racquet selections and because of other things. Before this I really loved Babolat and Wilson because of the selection and the popularity of the brands. Fischer is my new love, and a bit underrated.
I'm demoing the Fischer M Speed Pro Number One (105 Midplus) strung with Gamma TNT2 16 Black at 60 lbs. I found this racquet to be incredibly arm friendly and have a very soft feel to it. I'm also a fan of small heads (85-93 sq in), but found the huge head to be excellent which was a bit odd.
It feels like a Babolat Pure Drive Plus strung at 52 lbs, but had incredible power behind it. Oddly, it had more "clean/crisp" shots than the Pure Drive Plus due to weight and balance. It had a softer feel than my Wilson HyperCarbon Pro Staff 6.1 strung at 50 lbs due to the stiffness rating.
I wouldn't recommend this to starters because of the weight. It's better suited to 4.0+ players. It's a great racquet for either slow or fast swingers; it's perfect if you have good timing down.
Excellent net racquet though. You can really control your offensive volleys in doubles or singles as well with reaction volleys. Half volley pickups were a bit clumsy though.
The only thing I really dislike about the racquet is lack of pop on the serve. I wasn't serving that great but for returns found it to be excellent.
One handed backhands lacked pop off the topspin one handed backhand (I use a hybrid eastern, basically Federer's backhand grip). But possibly because of the balance. Slice one handed backhands were great both driving slice and spin slice.
Overall this racquet had a very clean/crisp feel to it. The shots came out the same way, very crisp and clean feel to the shots. The shots felt effortless both on slow and fast swing speeds as long as you hit the sweet spot.
I'm going to be demoing the 98" model on Wednesday and hopefully it's going to be great as well.
I might make this my racquet and stick with it. Buy a few with exactly the same specifications for college tennis.
