Can't be that bad of a racquet if three (Alcaraz, Rune, FAA) of the top 10 male players in the world use it.

100%. During my junior playing days, had a coach teach me that it's the proper strokes, skills, and dedication that make the player.

Now that I'm old and out of shape, it's definitely the racquet's fault.
Well, as we get older, more injured, more out of shape, we tend to favor racquets that fit our strokes. That said, I just don't have the swing-speed to make a racquet like the APD do what it's supposed to do. For me, it'd be a "crap" racquet. There are racquets that fit players better.

Blasphemy! You only need the same racquet the pros use to play like them. Everybody knows that!

I’m agree with you when I started playing I had the same coach now I can almost play with stick. That’s the fun part for me l tell what feels good for me lol and have fun. Always remember it is the player and not the racket lol.

the reasons why its a bad racket its because it has no control, Its a 50% miss shot, only if you hit it fast maybe you are lucky to choose the direction you want, and it doesnt feel like the same aero rafa is using which is way better.
He is definetely using a secret pro stock under the paintjob really,
Funny, I heard him say the same thing about your racket

Only thing I’ll say on the PSVS and why I think Carlos will tinker with changing : he apparently plays it in stock and he’s had sleeves, med tape, elbow braces on it, etc. quite a few times now. At 19 with elbow issues using a stock weighted frame is a bit concerning in my opinion. He could go the Novak route and increase the weight with a softer setup.

This statement is just absurd...

This new generation of tennis players are going lighter with more RHS.
The days of 350+ gram racquets with 360+ swing weights are gone.

The Vs is a great racquet, specially is you add some weight to it. The only issue is that there is not much free power, I have them and love them but as I am getting older I have bought the pure aero banana for the extra help of the bigger head size, Alcaraz and Rune have done the opposite form 100 to 98 which totally makes sense. Great racquet

Now being real, those **** rackets give you free power with little effort. It is pretty obvious what you need to do. If you can't even solve that then throw the racket on the garbage.

he is very young, there's no reason he couldn't be playing with the retail aero vs. most pro players play with racquets that were retail at some point in time, choosing to get PJs simply because they prefer the racquet they grew up using, not because there is some magic in these "pro stock" racquets. very few pros play with something that is truly unique that was never accessible to the public.

It does appear there's a shift to more stock playing racquet weights amongst younger pros.

Yes, Sinner is another. His racquet is only 325 grams, but it does have 340 swing weight with lead in hoop.

I’ve talked to a fair bit of kids who just play pure stock racquets. When I ask them about adding weight or any customization they look at me like wtf is this guy talking about. Half of them don’t even know the type of strings or tension because their coach or dad gives them the racquet. These are UTR 12+ kids who can routinely double bagel the best adults in our club at 4.5-5.0 (I’ve seen it). Stock is real at very high levels.

But is bet those kids aren't having the same fun as the racket nerds here when they open their rackets with a saw just to put some amazing stuff inside that will give them more topspin and power!!

Kids that are burned out because their parents have encouraged them to play since they were 5?
My club is one of top Junior clubs in Mid-West, I see it all the time.
Bingo. I try to just talk about the tour with kids on my team and there’s only like half who keep up lol

I have this racquet and it's probably the best racquet I ever had!! I'm 45 years old and I play since I was 8 years old...
That's the beauty of tennis... what fits for some doesn´t fit at all for others.

If nothing else, this thread shows that you could put a wooden spoon in a top player's hand and it would instantly become the greatest frame ever made.

Lol this is true^^

When I was in juniors, my friends and I would just pick any racquet and strings we could get or liked and thought felt good and went with it. In college we maybe added a little weight but that was it as we still went by feel on the court. We certainly weren't measuring everything thing out on scale/SW machine or using TW calculators lol. It's funny how things change when you get older.
I went to a pro tournament recently and asked a well known out of college pro what his swingweight was, and he looked confused. He was like "what's swingweight? uh I dunno they just balanced it for me and it feels good" lol

I bet if you asked them what strings and tension they use they wouldn’t have a clue either. But that doesn’t mean it’s not important. Whether they realize it or somebody customized and matched their racquets for them. It’s not like Babolat is just pooping out 4 matched Aeros for some random blue chip kid.

Exactly talk to the person who manages their equipment setup

Is it possible he is having success with this racket because Carlos Alcaraz’s tennis skill level is higher than yours?
Not at all. I'm not beating pros because I can't get my hands on his exact racket. Heck, even at 56, I'd probably be in the top 20 if Babolat let me buy the racket they custom make for him.
