This frame has pros and cons just like most of the frames on the market. It's not going to fit everyone's style or please your senses. It's like buying your grandma a racecar and expecting her to enjoy it on her daily drive. This frame's pro's outweigh the cons IMO and it does it well. I switched from heavy swinging player's frames (swingweight 350~) to the VS customized to around 330~ swingweight for a little over a year now and playing my best tennis and enjoying it. I have no comfort issues, even though the frame is a fairly stiff and hollow feeling. If anything, I've had more comfort issues with the coveted Ezone tour that I was testing for awhile. You need to commit to it and learn the frame, it takes time but if you can unlock its potential, you'll understand why Alcaraz can hit so big with his not so impressive spec frame.

How did you customise yours?

Pretty much yeah:
The Toby kid played 1 at Nebraska and peaked at 1509 in the ATP rankings. Hardly a "top pro." He's significantly better than most on the boards here though, so I guess it's evidence that the spoon is tough to use. Doubt he has changed much about his actual racquets since juniors except maybe upgrading to newer versions and could beat the vast majority of the board handily with any normal stick.

I think there is one with him using a tiny racquet with strings too

More like 49 out of 50

Only confirmed info is that he used Aero VS for several years, almost stock at swingweight of 326 or so, with RPM Blast 1.30 at 25/23kg, or 24/22kg when he wanted a sligthly looser tension

Players don't change racquets. If a 17 year old starts with Aero VS, and becomes world no. 1 as a 19 year old, does he change his racquet? Would you?

Mindless speculation, to put it politely. Even without the mindboggling success he's had with the VS, pro players don't change racquets. It takes 2-3 years to master a new frame completely, not just a weekend

Alcaraz uses a stock Pure aero 98, which is very uncommon since most players (Nadal, djoker and fed to name a few) don't/didn't even use the racquet they endorse/d. Nadal uses a custom aeroprodruve from 20 smth years ago. Djokers actual racquet isn't available publicly but is an unreleased version of the Head Radical with custom balancing and weighting. Any Wilson pro staff RF is nothing like the one he used either. Also the aero 98 is actually very nice, took one for test hit a couple weeks back but must say like all Aeros it's hard to serve well with.

Djoker’s racquet is not an ‘unreleased’ version of the Radical per se, rather I believe a bespoke layup from a modified mold; the RF 97 is basically Fed’s racquet apart from his custom after market handle.

according to tenncomm djokers racquet is made using a custom mold called the PT113B, which is loosely based on the head iradical

the reasons why its a bad racket its because it has no control, Its a 50% miss shot, only if you hit it fast maybe you are lucky to choose the direction you want, and it doesnt feel like the same aero rafa is using which is way better.
He is definetely using a secret pro stock under the paintjob really,
Alcaraz probably plays from your own words "a bad racquet" but he's the number 1 player over the planet. My guess, he is a player that can afford to play with a baseball bat

Where did 326 come from? His unstrung swingweight is 293. With a 1.30mm string there’s no way it’s less than 330 strung.

My racquets are 290 unstrung and 330 strung, with a 1.25 poly

Your 1.25 poly adds +40? Is it lynx tour? Normally 1.25 poly adds +30.

I think he's using a PA98. The grommets on the VS are noticeably different between the two and his current racquet appears to have the 98 grommets. Maybe I'm wrong though?

I agree with you
Once I measured a boom pro unstrung and strung with 130 RPM blast, which is what Carlos uses, and it added 39sw points. Not to mention that boom pro has one cross string less than the aero vs...

Could it be the 98 grommets replaced on the VS? I know the "spin grommets" are not liked by some.

I now believe that Rafa's achievements are entirely due to this racket, not to intrinsic ability.

Babolat vs Wilson Tournament with Rafa vs Fed as the highlight for one match
and then play doubles together for another match vs BrianBros
Fedal could spend a month tweaking them

Alcaraz, Fils, Rune using Blades VS Tsitsipas, Grigor and DeMinaur with a PA or PAVs

DeMinaur could finally get that extra heavyness he lacks vs Citybus, Meds and Carlitoss
instead of waiting till he is 35 like Ferrer did.
