Well i was going to my tennis courts when i passed by the pro shop and they had two strange looking racquets in the windows. I went in to check it out and BEHOLD! the new Wilson [K] factor racquets:eek:

First the [K] stands for [K]arbon Black, and the new racquets will have this plus the nCode carbon. The shop had the lighter 95sq in racquet with a 18x19 string pattern bu the one i was really interested in was the one that would replace the tour. Apparently, it is heavier then n6.1Tour since it weighs 12.7oz strung vs the 12.5 strung weight of the racquets they had in the store. Also it has the longer throat area just like Federer's racquet. It also has the same exact string pattern as Fed's racquet with only 4 cross strings on the PWS. According to the guy i was talking to at the shop, its even more stable then the n6.1 Tour and has a better feel. According to him, its the best racquet since the PS6.0 80...but i cant really tell if its the truth or him just trying to sell me a pre-order for the racquet.

They actually allow demos of it, but only if u leave a credit card with them because they are afraid of theft....so anybody that lives near the Billie Jean King USTA Center, u should go check it out. The guy there says its suppoed to come out towards the end of January and Fed will start using the paintjob by the Australian Open.

I was at the National Tennis center today also and saw them in the window.

Didn't realize they would let you demo them!

actually on the credit card thing...thats at most pro shops now...leave your credit card and get it back after you return the racquet, some places charge for demo'ing, most dont because you've left the credit card

i also had a chance to get my hands on the racquet, but it was unstrung, brand new with the plastic over the leather grip

i cannot wait to demo this racquet

i think its stupid that wilson continues to pass off the questions on the racquet, as it appears many places have 1 or 2 of the racquets in the back of their stores and let the customers see them

its only like a month and a half away from release or at most until feb 2007

basically most of the racquets have been made and are ready to ship, and so many tennis junkies know about them...even the juniors are on top of this info...so wilson should just let it out to the public

i was at gsmith asking them when they'll have it..the guy looked stupid going thru gsmith's and wilson's websites...they have no info on it

Psamp14,

What Wilson's doing is a marketing trick. It's called "creating restrain". This will create more demands for the racket as the hype start growing. They'll make a few available for demo's and all that so the hype will grow even stronger.

And this will result in a tidal wave sales figure once it's publicly released.

anirut, makes sense...less info known makes people want to know more

the k factor has really become the hottest topic now, especially that tennis is done for the season, other than davis cup but thats not close to as popular as the k factor's are being talked about

yes, thats obviously the intent of wilson...and they are lucky to have sampras in the 90s, and now federer

AO starts like jan 15 in australia, so jan 14 almost everywhere else...so federer would use his ncode 90 at like kooyung or whatever tournament he plays before the AO, and then bam! jan 15, AO, and the k factor ....australia will go nuts, then the world will go nuts! LOL

My pro shop guy said he was not supposed to talk about the K factor!

Nice marketing machine.

I remember the guy saying it will be $180...so yea i would expect that the nCodes will go even lower.

when the ncode line came out they were like $179.99 for the tour 90 and 95s at least, not sure of the others

how much did the pro staff tour 90 drop when the ncode 90 came out? that could give an idea of what the ncode prices will be like

i remember seeing like package deals for the pro staff tour 90...like 2 frames plus 6 wilson pro grips for less than $150
