Power V Grip / Wonder Wedge

D

did you ever have any luck with this ?
I did not . It would be great not to cut up a 25 dollars sorbothane grip just to make one but I might have to just to try it out .

I never tried the website but I just use mounting tape ....5 pieces one on top of each other .

I am a user of power V grip (PVG) I but want to go for a thinner version (PVG II). The website seems non functional.
I tried to use double sided tape and etc but they are not good as the PVG as it is made of Sorbothane. Double sided tape is a bit harder and also rough when the racquet twists in the arm.
Anyone know of ways to get Power V grip II ?

There seem to be a guy selling strips of sorbothane on **** . You can also buy the real sorbothane grip on **** as well and use a strip of that up one side of your grip you will Need to wrap it after attaching otherwise it will eventually twist off or deform with the grip VS the black strips that are for sale.

The best option for time being seems to be to create your own. Sorbothane strips from online ( I bought from amazon) and cut it to the shape based . If you have access to more sophisticated machinery, the dimensions are available on the non functional website.

I tried it and it isn't bad.

This kind of grip intrigues me. Like most I hit a semi-western to western forehand, and this looks like it could be interesting to try. How does it work with a continental backhand and a 2-hand backhand? And does it help with volleys? My backhand volleys are solid but I find that the racket twists a bit too often on the forehand volleys. I wonder if this would help.

It looks like I'd have to make this myself like Dark Knight did. Doesn't seem to hard. Just use mounting tape cut to the right size and then wrap over it?

Continental backhand is fantastic with it ...really powers up your stroke and far more stable . But if you really want continental then try it on the serve .....WOW!!! BOMB!!!!

Two handed backhand ? I actually put a second wedge for the supporting hand . I use TWO wedges . Really powers up the stroke .

Volleys ....again WOW....get ready for some great angles .

Seniwest is a power up as well.

******Caveat: there is a very large learning curve . Because of all the extra power you will be spraying balls all over the place and losing matches left and right for about three months .
Another thing you must be careful about is to make your decision very quickly because if you stick with
It then you won't be able to go back to a normal grip ever again .

Two wedges. Voww. Wouldn't that add to grip size. I'm a long time user of power V but only use 1. Especially when serving, wouldn't the second wedge get in the way of gripping properly?

I just made one of these with mounting tape. It's a bit of a clumsy job right now because I didn't try to taper it. I just did some drop hits and hit a few serves and it felt comfortable but I can't yet tell if it did much for me. It does make it seem like the racket will be more secure in my hand.

So just to make sure I'm doing this right, the mounting tape addition is supposed to be in the palm of my hand when I hit my semi-western forehand. When I go continental backhand is the mounting tape again in my palm? It feels a bit weird on conti serve.

Going out with the ball machine after dinner to hit for a bit.

What site? Or please list specs? Of both PVGI and PVGII. Is one just thinner than other? 1/4" vs 1/8" or something else?

I've been playing with my homemade v-wedge. I sort of like it. I sort of don't know exactly what it does for me. I do seem to get a bit more topspin, which is nice. I don't really feel like I'm hitting the ball harder. It feels comfortable in my hand as well, due to the squishiness of the mounting tape. It makes me wonder if I need a spongy grip? Maybe that's all I need?

Yes that's correct. The tape goes on the 3rd bevel.

It helps to get leverage on the continental and SW/extreme eastern grip.
