I am fairly new to stringing machines and all that, although i have been stringing with this machine for 2 years, i can string well, get a the job done well and quick and know most techniques but the question is, is it possible to upgrade the machine like better clamps, electric tensioner? etc?

If so, what are the upgrades that you can do to this machine to make it better over time?

Hi, federer_nadal,

May I ask where you are located? Might make a big difference in cost of something like a Wise tension head, if it has to be shipped internationally. Normal cost for those is in the neighborhood of $500 (US), I think. I was just guessing that if own a TST 200, you might be in Australia, and I don't know about Wise availability there.

(PS, thanks for the "shameless promotion"... ;) )

federal nadal,

I have a Wise Tension Head. Cost in the US with shipping and the foot pedal is about $580. It does a very nice, consistent job.

However, I would recommend it only if you are very very happy with your present machine (mountings, clamps, table, etc.). It is a nice add on. To me it is a very good product. I cannot say it is an extremely excellent product.

In retrospect, if I were to upgrade to an electronic machine, I should have bought a brand new electronic machine and plan on spending at minimum $1600.( Like a Silent Partner) It really depends on one's budget. If you presently have a $700 machine and add a $580 Wise, that is close to a $1300 machine. I would rather have a new electronic machine, not worrying about cords or compatiblity or other minor factors.

Like I said, it just depends on your budget.
