Hard to see it from such a low camera angle.

btw, how many more steps did you take after hitting that running forehand?

Decent swing path, but could improve footwork so you are hitting more forward into it. Bit better than average for sure.

From such a short clip with only 3 backhands it appears you just want feedback on the crusher you hit down the line. That was sweet.
my minecraft channel has a few more backhands and other footage, and I wish I could hit crushers all the time lol

I mean nice hits and all different shots/height but...
1st shot: Coulda whipped it but didn't but nice swing path I suppose
2nd shot: sorta coulda finished with whip like Wawrinka but nice
3rd shot: awkward swing path, goes low to a little higher to slightly lower maybe?

I mean they're nice :D but maybe you could work on relaxing a little more and whipping it to max it out like Wawrinka level of awesomeness?:eek::eek:
will keep that in mind next time i go hit with the ball machine lol, I tend to be more relaxed when the balls are coming at me at a constant pace

1) Gasquet, Wawrinka and Justine Henin have outstanding one hand backhands, models for one technique where initial acceleration involves the chest pressing on the upper arm.

2) They also have a way of bringing down the racket, it is similar to some other one hand backhand techniques. The off hand brings the racket down causing internal shoulder rotation (ISR), a defined joint motion. I have not studied stats of this issue for balls of various heights, etc., but their motions often seemed surprisingly complete to me.

Your stroke regarding these two features:

1) I can't see from this camera view if your chest presses on your upper arm. Also, the slow frame rate may not be good enough.

2) You seem to bring the racket down with the off hand in a somewhat similar way but a high speed video comparison would be better.

This thread describes these two one hand backhand issues. Start at post #51 (or #38) and on.

In my opinion your not staying sideways enough, your upper body violently rotates around, which in my opinion would hurt your consistency in aiming your shots.
Looking at Federer, you can see, at 0:44 in the video its a really great angle to see, he uncoils and rotates his upper body and then the body stops while the racquet whips into the ball, and at this point he is more or less sideways towards the path the ball will take more or less, only after he hits the ball and the ball leaves does he rotate his upper body fully around.

You are mostly rotating in one continious motion, which in my opinion hurts your consistency.
Its not a good angle to see in your video tho, and only 3 shots, so maybe im wrong.
Infact in your first shot it seems like you did it quite well staying somewhat sideways before whipping the ball and then rotating around, your second shot was much weaker in this regard and your third shot was just a full violent rotation around which needs incredible timing and probably some luck to hit where you want to hit it consistently.

Your entire body looks like a noodle. The OHBH requires being really balanced and stable from ground up. Right leg always planted which allows for that hip rotation. You gotta get into position and allow yourself time to set up and hit the ball which all happens simultaneously. Swing looks decent but you just gotta practice it more, it takes a lot of work to get a really good OHBH.
