Forget about content of the article. It is a narrative shift. Stage 1: There is no GOAT, Stage 2: GOAT is X (and X is not Federer). Jumping off the ship, jumping on the bandwagon, as you like it.

For starters, he doesn't have glaring grammatical and spelling mistakes in his articles. And when did criticizing a player become a reason for loss of credibility?

This book had a different take then one might have at first glance. Although it described Federer and his role being the greatest of all time, it tended to focus on specific matches and other players as well.

What has your thread added to the discussion? It's nothing but regurgitated arguments we've seen a million times. Except the presentation is worse.

It's like the weak era stuff. I roll my eyes every time I see a weak era thread, regardless of who the target is.

So they (he and other ESPN staff, "we") suddenly had this revelation now, yet right after the AO final, when it was a hot topic, Bodo's article was "Inside Djoker: Making the case for GOAT". :rolleyes:

They try to catch as much hype/clicks as they can. It's not a coincidence that the title of the article has all the Big 3's names in it instead of something general but closer to the point that there is no single player who is the greatest.

Journalists are bored because Federer has tapped about all the magic he can from his Wilson wand. Nadal just got waxed by Djokovic after plowing through a bunch of mugs. It's the press keeping the sport alive in black and white. Nothing less, nothing more.

Federer was chosen as GOAT by a group of historians , analysts , players and pundits specifically brought in for that exercise

I will wait until similar such thing happens (if ) for Djoker

I had to google who that was and even after i did i couldn't contain my laugh. A sports reporter and writer weighing in on the topic on who is the greatest is like asking asking a blind and deaf person to judge a beauty contest. Sure they can have opinion but they have no actual practical experience in the subject matter.

Theres no doubt that homogenization helps make the dominant plays STAY dominant.

What would guys like Goran, Becker, Sampras have accomplished if there was fast surfaces all year round? Sampras would have won 30 plus slams most likely.

Loved it when Uncle Toni blacklisted him and refused interviews with Nadal after Bozo posted an article about PEDs with Nadal's photo. Bozo then crawled before them in IW and begged for forgiveness.
