Federer is the highest endorsed athlete in the world

So, Federer earns more than two and a half times as much as Nadal.

No wonder that he doesn't care about others' records, no?

More importantly, it explains why Djo has to continue to stress about winning tournaments. If you can be popular and represent, gotta get paid somehow...

Nadal initially didn't even want to wear his Richard Mille watch saying it wasn't for him. They convinced him the then new model he wears these days even while playing tennis was just the right one for an athlete like him.

Then you have Federer who negotiates his endorsement deal with his long time sponsor Nike and leaves them for Uniqlo as he got a much bigger deal from them. Not saying he didn't deserve to be the most endorsed athlete in the world. He is the most popular tennis player without a doubt. He is also the kind of person who wants more and more $$. Nadal doesn't seem to be as greedy for money as the Swiss maestro.

Nishikori who is a huge sports star in his country. He gets endorsed by many big companies in Japan. If Tomic earned as much as Nishikori from endorsements, he'd never be seen again. He'd be too busy counting his millions at home.

Why do tennis players rake more in endorsements than, say, many popular basketball and football players who are more famous (in North America anyways)?

Considering they get paid 10 times their earnings on the court, how could anyone believe Slams draws aren't rigged in their favor ?

And i mean all: Fedr, Nadal, Novak, ...

Doesn’t matter if they convinced him or what not. He’s not being held at gun point to wear a watch that costs more than 500k. He’s repeatedly photographed out on his multi million dollar yacht. Nadal likes the extravagant lifestyle just as much as Roger.
How can you condemn someone for being popular?

No one's condemning anyone here. Some are highly motivated to make more and more money while some few others seem satisfied with the wealth they already have. To each his own.

I am sure Federer makes a lot of more money with his investment portfolio than in endorsement. He was the face of NetJet when he won the 2009 Wimbledon title. Anyone know who owns NetJet? None other than Warren Buffett. I am sure Federer asked Buffet for financial advise and Federer is probably one of the richest athletes, if not the richest athlete in the world. Federer might be richer than even Michael Jordan.

Wait a minute, I thought Djokovic was unpopular and not marketable? What is he doing here, earning more in endorsements than Nadal?

Something doesn't seem right... Nadal should be way ahead of Federer in winnings for 2018

He is - it lists Nadal at $9M vs Federer's $7.4M

This is also one year since June 2018, not the entire calendar year of 2018 (basically 2018 French Open until 2019 Rome)

It's also worth noting Nadal and Federer are basically tied in winnings for the calendar year of 2018 - $8.66 M for Nadal vs $8.63 M for Fed. Remember that Rafa played 9 tournaments in 2018 (4 Slams + Canada + 4 clay tourneys).

All I’m saying is, your post seemed to suggest that Fed is greedy, while Rafa is some kind of humble person who doesn’t want the finer things in life. Fact is he does. His yacht shows this. His watch shows this. His tennis academy shows this. They’re all enjoying the extravagant lifestyle as much as each other.

Even then Nadal has won a Grand Slam and been in 2 semi finals and a final. Federer's best result is a QF. The numbers don't stack up

No, Nadal really isn't such person. That is why his leisure club called Academy charges exorbitant prices for kids of rich parents
Cheaper than IMG:

"The Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy, which opened last autumn on the Spanish island of Mallorca, is charging kids 56,000 euros ($62,000) a year for tennis lessons and school.

Patrick Mouratoglou’s new academy on the French Riviera, where his protege Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic have trained, will set you back close to 40,000 euros a year, while the IMG Academy in Florida costs $78,250."

I don't think Federer needs any advice from Warren Buffet. He lives in a part of the world where the banking industry thrives and he's the ambassador of Credit Suisse, one of the largest investment banks in the world.

Haha so the Fed stanbase lives so much through him, that they consider Roger is sharing money with them. That's cute. Whatever helps y'all sleep better.

Is any player sponsored to wear Casio G Shocks, would seem like a smart move for Casio although given their sales volume they probably don’t care.

IMG is an academy with track record of producing tennis stars and ALSO is the most expensive in the world.

Like I said, the money grab that the leisure centre for rich kids that the so called academy is is an utter scam.

Keep your hate for Nadal well inside. "The so-called academy", "utter scam", bla, bla, bla. The Rafa Nadal academy has both clay courts on hard courts. IMG only has hard courts. Thus, the Rafa Nadal Academy is more complete. (Of course the Nadal Academy has not produced new talents yet, as it is a new academy and doesn't have a long history like IMG.)

Because tennis players are global, basketball and football players are the United States.. So we have a potential audience of 7.5 billion vs. 300 million. Thus tennis players get a lot, lot, lot, lot more.
Exactly who the hell cares about football outside the US.

To be fair, even Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar don't get paid Federer type of money in endorsements and they are extremely popular and play arguably the most popular sport in the world. They make most of their money on salary alone. Lebron makes more money than them in endorsements so that's not it. It's just the popular and successful tennis players make a lot in endorsements, Federer making a ton.

If that were the case, then either Djokovic and his agent are geniuses, or Nadal and his agent are morons

But the guy loves to hate on Djokovic for no reason so there is hope of an objective assessment coming from him

NBA and especially NFL players aren't as big as guys like Federer.
Kobe was. Lebron might be as well. NFL I agree with you, Tom Brady is not huge outside of this continent. Maybe Odell Beckham could become that, but he's still far from it.
