I heard the mid was a great racket. Didn't like the 001MP, its mad stiff. I got TE in like two hours, never happened with my PD+. Its control isnt that great, easy access to spin though and great serving (IMO). Felt pretty stiff, even when strung with NXT.

i play with the 001 mp....3 of them and i cant stop saying enough about them, its solid from all areas, u might lose a bit on ur serve but volleys are crisp and awsome, forehands just dont compare to babolats, dunlops etc.....backhands are feeling crisp and i get the spin and depth i want

Lies and slander!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

The RDS 001 MP is more flexible than the PD, it's not "mad stiff", whatever the hell that means. I personally did feel discomfort in my elbow and shoulder when I played with a friends PD for one day. This is not to say I got tennis elbow in "two hours" however, as that is highly unlikely if not impossible. Please stop slandering Yonex, it's not becoming.

I'm definitely not badmouthing the racket, I just said (in my opinion) it felt very stiff and the control wasn't as great as some other rackets I tried (fxp prestige, mspeed, ag300).

I had a lot of discomfort with it in my elbow region, not sure if its TE, but it hurt like hell. And I like some yonexes, I really liked the RDX 500 MP, it had a nice flexy feel, great control, and beastly spin.

I'm just saying that everyone has their own opinons of rackets, and I certainly felt the RDS 001 was very stiff (maybe not as stiff as the PD, but definitely somewhere close) and the control wasn't as spectacular as everyone says it is in this forum (IMO).

This is what I don't understand completely. I agree the Mid is a better racquet.

I used to get really bad elbow pains with the PD+, I had to wear a brace on my forearm/elbow when I first got it for a month or two, then it just stopped. After that I barely had twinges in my elbow, so after playing with the RDS for a little while and basically destroying my elbow, it felt extremely stiff. They're both stiff rackets, the MP and the PD+, but I haven't had problems with the PD+ in a while, but with the MP I did, no idea why though/

I have owned a Yonex RDS 001 and own two MFil 300's right now.

The MFill is a much lighter racket. This is by far the biggest difference. Depending on what you're used to, one of them will probably feel more natural to you right off the bat.

Both have moderate power... They are just solid rackets from everywhere on the court. They do feel different though, the MFil feels pretty "tinny" while the Yonex feels much moe solid. The Yonex is definitely stiffer, but with the added weight I'd say it is the more comfortable of the two.

I guess you've already got the MFil, so I don't need to say anything about it.

If you're happy with your 300, there is no reason to consider any other racket.

Is there something you dislike about your current racket? Something you want to change?

I'd say unless you want a little more stock weight, there isn't much reason to switch.

real liar huh? get my facts straight? who the hell are you?
I did have very brief problems with my elbow when I used the PD+, for the first few months or so, then they disappeared. Obviously, since I used the racket for years I considered it an effect of the added weight, added stiffness, and added length. But when I tried the RDS, which I did try three different times (thanks to TW) I had bad elbow twinges each time, and I'm comfortable with the weight and the standard length, and the high stiffness. Thus, I had to assume it was the racket.
I hate explainning myself to the foolish people that just come in read two posts, with no background knowledge and start pressing that your're a liar.

So is that straight enough for you?

I don't understand how YOU come in telling people how stiff the RDS is, when the PD+ has a higher stiffness rating. Especially when you say you NEVER had problems with the PD, then right after that say you had very bad elbow problems.

Well than smarty, since when do all rackets play as their stiffness ratings indicate? Is the PS 95 a very stiff racket? Based on whats been said on these boards, and on what my coach says (he uses one) I hear its plays and feels pretty flexible.

I did say I had problems with my PD+, but as I stated in my post above I considered them negligable and as effects of switching rackets.

And for the record, I don't come in telling people NOT to use rackets by badmouthing them, I tell them What I think, then to try it themselves.

I'd agree w/majority of above, except that (at low tensions) I find the M-Fil just as comfy as the RDS. The main area where the M-Fil falls off compared to the RDS on comfort at higher tensions is on frame/near frame shots. The RDS is a little more muted than the M-Fil, but trades that for a little more solid "thumpy" feel overall than the M-Fil.

I had a multi-week demo of the RDS 001 MP (wanted to change to it from my RDX 500 Mid) but ended up unable to commit. (Typical guy, huh?) ;) With the RDS I could never quite get my serve to work...lost power and wasn't able to place it as well as I wanted to. Other than that I liked the RDS overall, but never felt that heart-thumping "Oooo!" that typically means I've found a racquet that I may switch to.

I personally think that the Dunlop M-Fil 300 is the bomb. I mean, I've hit with both frames. The Yonex to me, just is a little unstable. Maybe because of the smaller sweet spot, but in general I do think that the Yonex is unsable. I've also heard that the Dunlop M-Fil 300 can be unstable, but I've not found that to be true. I mishit balls (especially on my forehand) and don't get harsh feedback like I did from the Yonex. This might be because the Yonex is heavier from the Dunlop. If you are used to heavier frames, then I would think that you would like the Yonex better than the Dunlop. If you enjoy a lighter frame, then you should stick with the Dunlop. Your best option has to be demoing the Yonex and just seeing if you like it. I know I've heard good things about the Wilson nBlade, but didn't like it. Whatever you do, don't buy the frame out of ignorance. Good luck on finding the right frame.

I've had a history of TE and found the RDS001 comfortable (much more so than the PDs -- perhaps string tension was a factor on the demos). It did not feel as stiff as it's specs to me. I just played with the AG300 (sorry, no MFIL), and felt it had more control than the RDS, but less power. I enjoyed hitting groundies better with the RDS, but served & returned better with the AG.
