Breathe Cage problem :-(

So, on the right foot, when I take a step, the rubber cage part bends and pokes me right on the bone at the base of my big toe. It's painful and very noticeable. I was wondering if someone had any troubles like this and what are some possible solutions? I wanna try to stay w/ one pair of socks if I can. Can I force it to bend in any other way or anything? I don't wanna give up the shoes, but it might have too.. :-(

I wear Breathe 3's. I tried the cages and noticed that the toe-box was smaller and pressed down on my big toe. I didn't buy them and went back to my Breathe 3's.

If they don't fit return them. Don't get caught up in the hype as there are tons for good shoes out there. Your feet will thank you.

Either that or cut off the part of the cage that hits your toe.

I had the same exact problem only with my left big toe. Liked the shoes alot but I returned them because of this.

They've only been out for a month or two right? I doubt anyone has worn them down that fast...they are a pretty well made shoe

that sucks. try calling Nike and maybe they will have a remedy. you didnt notice when you tried it on new?

Sometimes it's not noticeable when trying it out at the shops. The real test comes when playing on the court.

I don't see why you can't try returning it. Tell them that it has injured your foot and that's it's a problem due to design rather than user related.

I also tried the Barricade IV before buying my Cages, and the Barricades were also digging into the bone of my first toe. Thankfully I hadn't bought it as I found it out at the shop.

I just got them on TW... I didn't have a shop close by to try 'em on first... that's the problem with internet shopping.

I have...the durrability was the worst of the series for me.

I found out how to solve this problem...at least for me. I tried on the next size up from the pair that rubbed me (9.5 to a 10) and it doesn't rub anymore. I think it creates a different bending point on the shoe.

Really? Even with the supposedly more durable XDR sole? I mean XDR is supposed to be more durable than the DRC2 soles on the BFII and BFIII, right?

I'm pretty certain they couldn't be worse than the II's (which was a very durable shoe). They are basially the same shoe with more rubber protecting the upper and a more durable sole.

I'm starting to see a lot of wear on my Cages... and I've only been playing for a little more than 2 weeks in them.

What part of the shoe is the wear on and is it usually where you wear down shoes?

I used it with my Nike Air Resolve Plus and Nike sent me a brand new one without any hassle.

Do you guys think the cages are better than the BF 2's, becuase right now I have a pair of BF 2's and I really like them.

I think they are better than the 2's because they are more stable overall... better ankle support and great cushioning... unfortunately there are minor defects with them such as lack of glue from the hard plastic part of the outsole to the foamy rubber part that connects the middle section of the bottom half of the shoe... if Nike shoes weren't always defective all the time they are the best tennis shoes by far!
