Main thing is that Nadal has that attitude - "I'll fight you to the bloody end, spartan style!". Federer has a total front-runner's attitude that he's confident when he's ahead, as soon as he's down here comes the Samprasian hangdog look and it's all over. If Roger can't find that Spartan spirit within himself, he's gonna have to be content with being a clown of the Nadal Era. :) :) :)

No way Nadal takes over Federer's #1 ranking. Get real. The claycourt season is the only time Nadal shines.

did u see the way he played against ferrero today? it seems he's definately got him form back. if he can hold on to it for a while, he'll be able to secure his world no. 1 standing no problem.

Really? That's interesting! Are we talking about the same Federer that came back from 2 down and down 4-1 in the third to win the title against Nadal in Miami?
And the same Nadal that looked like a sad puppy dog when he was getting worked by Gonzo in the AO. Common dude, you are generalizing.

saw fed today roast the mosquito too. kind of reminds me of how nasty fed looked in his second set bagel against david ferrer in monte carlo. we know what happened in the final against Lord Nadal of Mallorca and then against volandri in rome. can fed keep it up is the question?

these cold, windy clay court conditions surely do not favor an attacking shotmaker like fed. nadal's in position to sweep the clay court season and catapult himself even further out as ATP year #1. question is what will happen on grass and hard courts.

Yeah whatever just because you know Nadal is coming hard at Fed you don't know how to respond. Look at the records man, this yeah Fed aint looking so good. Nadal, on the other hand, is raking it in. His confidence is building up much more than Fed.

Just because he's not playing his best doesnt mean he's on his way down already. Everyone has good and bad times-we're human. You're speaking too soon just based on this episode he's having. Do remember that he started off the year by winning 2 major tournaments and next time use your brain before you start typing.

3 months ago, nobody gave anything for Nadal. And Fed was considered the GOAT around here. What will it be like in another 3 months? We'll see. However, I'm fascinated at how fast some people change their minds.

Yes, yes, I could not do what wanted with the wooden tennis racket handle. The grip size was too big...and I got caught trying to do it. My father caned me badly because he did not want me to do such things with my racket. He said i was a bad boy and took the racket away from me....

You seem to enter an emotional crisis as you recall the events of that warm day. Even your typing turns somewhat erratic and barely legible as you near the key events in your recollections. You need to work through the emotional pain that you are suffering and try to recollect the chain of events that transpired on that warm summer afternoon.

Well Nadal's going to have to get his act together then. Remember last year he didn't win a single title after the French Open, all the way through to Indian Wells 07. The French Open is just a week away.... then what? He goes back to being just another contender. I mean if Blake and Youzney can regularly whip his ass he doesn't stand much of a chance of being #1. If he somehow messes up at the FO, I'd even expect Djoko, Davy, and possible Roddick to slip past him.

Anyone who won three slams in the year would clearly be the #1 player in the world.

Alas, there's already a guy who does that every year, and it sure as hell ain't Nadal. Hint: the guy already won the AO without losing a set, and has won the last three slams.

Amazing how people are willing to crown Nadal the ascendant #1 anew every year -- when he never improves.
