How hard is it to become a top 250 in the country for boys 14's is it winning states, how hard is it, and what would form a benchmark, as in competition performance.

Yea exactly I know a lot of kids that aren't very good, but just have enough money to travel around the country playing in little national events that get you a lot of points.
Nope, National tourneys only give you points if you win rounds. You can go to them and loose first round then loose consolations, and get no points. Eventually you might get lucky and play a sucky kid in the backdraw and get 5 points. That is enough to get you into the top 1000 in the nation.

And endorsements. Most levels don't from when I was playing USTA. Look for endorsements and they should say in the info if you can get nat points.
I was back in town a little bit ago for a while, and I played a dual level 5 just because I hadn't played USTA a tourney in a while and some of my buds were playing it, and I don't think it counted toward national points.

its denis kudla and junior ore are 1 and 2 and they are much better than 4.0
Obviously, I didn't say they were. Most top players in the nation are better then 5.0
Wow. Top 14 year olds are 5.0? That's a lot better than most people I play. I'm planning on trying to enter a local, and I know setting a huge goals like nationals isn't the best, so I'll shoot for locals, then state. One question: If someone asked to play you on a certain time (random) while you were on the court, would you do it?

well...i imagine its pretty hard. We got guy in south dakota whos like 14 and he is #1 in state for high schools. freaking ripping every1s butt :\
yeah im sure they 5.0s....at least. There some real gud players i seen that are pretty young

hey sakumo, since you play ITF,
I am a Boy's 16's ranked like 11-25(no exact numbers that gives my identity away) I played the Spring Circuit itf's in Texas this year and all I'm saying is I got past the first three rounds in 18 singles(once again cannot give out revealing facts, academy rules) is it maybe a good idea for me to play the futures in here in the states if all expenses are paid for just to see how I do or will it be a complete waste of time because I know those guys are good.

It sure wouldn't be a waste of time. Anytime you are playing against people who will own you is a great learning experience and it doesn't kill your confidence if you lose, plus if you win, you get a huge confidence boost. I doubt you will get any pts, but yea I would try. I love playing qualies for like IW and Sony Erickson because it's great competition, and you could make the main draw. So for sure if it is payed for, go for it.
Paid for? Go for it, you'll have some tough matches, but it's an excellent experience to really see what you're up against in the future. (no pun intended)
Tough match against Harrison in Spring, by the way, I remember seeing part of it.

The guy i get lessons from is Emmet's serve coach lol
His serve is gross IMO, no offense to your coach. It looks like a sloppy version on Roddicks, but it gets the job done.

Yeah I played Emmett (That is how you spell it!) recently. He has gotten A LOT better since January! He plays so much different now!

Yea, I mostly play juniors ITF, but I play challengers and futures also. I've been in the main draw of a ATP tourney too. So I have pts in ATP, just don't want to commit yet, you know.
