The fourth movie of the monsterverse features the two biggest monsters in movie history, who have you got winning this one. Godzilla v Kong coming out in March. Can't wait. A proper trailer will be released soon, just six seconds of footage for now.

Kong landing a savage punch to Godzilla's face, fully expect Godzilla to shake it off and hit back even harder. I've got Godzilla winning this fight.

I wasn't sure how KK could even be a match up after looking at that gigantic nuclear Godzilla from King of the monsters. Looks like Kong has grown double in size since Skull Island.
Going by typical 'vs films' movie logic i guess neither will be allowed to win convincingly? Might even join forces to fight off a 3rd evil monster.

There is going to be a clear winner in this fight, no screw job finish. From what I know, the fight is about ten minutes uninterrupted and it ends with one winning convincingly over the other. This has been confirmed, who that will be will be seen.

There is however another monster in this movie that has been confirmed who appears at the climax. And that famous monster, is one of the biggest rivals to Godzilla, arguably only second to King Ghidorah.

I read that it would be Mecha-Godzilla. If Vince McMahon runs the show, he would make it a triple threat match.

Godzilla wins in deep old age while sedated with death penalty drugs and put on a ventilator after being falsely diagnosed with hoaxbug.

Interesting. Would really like to know who ends up top. Not that I don't like a stalemate though.
The thing that put me off with KOM and Skull Island was the meh story lines. I just could not get into either of them. That family side story in Godzilla KOM was total cringe. Sad to see really , that film had some epic Monster action.

Mothra can fly and is the GOAT, but no google used i remember as a kid they let king kong win in USA and Godzilla win in Japan in the 60s/70s version of Godzilla vs king kong.

Well, no stalemate this time, the director has stated, there will be no doubt who wins. Both are going to do a lot of damage to the other from what I know.

Understand you on the side storylines, lets see how that is handled in this one.

The 1962 King Kong v Godzilla movie. That was the third movie made by Toho, the first movie made in color in the Godzilla series. Kong was shown to be swimming back to Skull Island in the end.

Mothra can not only fly, Mothra is essentially immortal. While she is more vulnerable than the others, she has the ability of rebirth. Also she is on a rare list of monsters that beat Godzilla, Mothra v Godzilla 1964 she beats him.

Just seen it. Came here to share the trailer lol
How can we not be rooting for Kong on this one?! Sorry Zilla

That was just insane! The adrenaline is pumping after watching that.

Kong really holding up his own, is this where he gets the moniker of KING Kong, but defeating The King of the Monsters?

One is going to fall for sure, however, we haven't Godzilla's attacks yet and we all know what he is capable of.

The question for me is whether 'zilla respects his opponent.

If not, he may soon come to regret it.

I think without a shadow of a doubt he respects Kong, hence why he is going so viciously after him as he sees Kong as a legit threat. Godzilla only goes all out against alphas that he sees as equals.

Kong will have the speed advantage, he is also more agile, has better use of his limbs, is able to make weapons, he clearly has built an axe here after ripping out one of Godzilla's dorsal plates, also I think he is more intelligent. However, Godzilla has durability, incredible threshold for punishment, nuclear power, and can if he needs to, enter his burning state, better fight experience.

Jeez Louise, should I have been going easier on a certain someone?! ;)

Gotta figure internally generated nukes alone should end this contest in the blink of an eye!

We've got to get Kong pulling a Rocky here, though. Because mortality is nearer to our hearts.

Kong has a lot of heart, he basically is the Rocky in this fight. Godzilla is almost indestructible, and even though he can go into thermonuclear meltdown and launch nuclear pulses that can destroy everything around him, I don't think he will go down that path.

They should (perhaps they already have) create the ultimate beast-master of them all—in which entire galaxies comprise naught but electrons within the cellular bodies of, say, its claws.

Even black holes cower before this terror's incalculable might.

Its all possible. Depends if they continue the story after this movie.

on one one side you have an armored, nuclear powered, literally fire breathing monster. on the other side you have a big ape, whose hair easily catches on fire. right, should be a close one

Review, only read after you watch the movie if you intend to watch it, since it is spoiler heavy review and I give away the ending.

This was an incredible ride from start to finish, you get to see the monster fights in all their spectacle without cutting away to human characters for prolonged periods.
The fights are both at night and in broad daylight, the third act is one of the greatest sequences you will see, Godzilla v Kong take each other on in Hong Kong, it hardly cuts away from the fight, and these two take massive shots at each other. Kong is armed with a powerful axe that his ancestors used to fight the Godzilla species in the past, this axe is made from the dorsal plate of a previous Godzilla and can absord Godzilla's incredible atomic breath.

The two have a fight previously in the ocean, but the one in HK is the big main event between them, and it is brutal! It looks like Kong has finished Godzilla off, only for Godzilla to turn into a savage where that damages Kong so much, he basically stops his heart, Godzilla wins the fight, but Kong refuses to bow to him, even in defeat, Godzilla nods in respect and leaves him. This is where the real villian Mechagodzilla, who has been designed to kill Godzilla makes his appearance, and his hammers the tired Godzilla. I have never seen Godzilla get 'manhandled' like this before, Mechagodzilla is insanely powerful, Kong gets revived and understands Godzilla is not the enemy, he then helps Godzilla fight Mechagodzilla.

The team up is epic, but this is where Kong now shines, he uses the charged up axe by Godzilla and cuts Mechagodzilla in brutally epic fashion, ripping his head out and holding up high as he roars in victory. The two basically have a moment of respect for each other, Kong drops the axe, Godzilla roars in respect and heads off to the ocean.

Said by many, Godzilla wins the battle, but Kong wins the movie. He is basically the hero of the movie, you see how he goes onto become King Kong when he returns to the Hollow Earth. The Hallow Earth is really beautiful, Kong has his hands full there also, battles other Kaiju there called Warbats. A very colorful and vibrant movie, the fights in the daylight are spectacular and they serious hold nothing back, these two absolutely beat the hell out of each other, however Godzilla's insane durability edges it in the end.

No burning Godzilla, no Mothra, no Rodan. No end credits, this movie is bascially the final chapter in the monsterverse and it truly is the best one of the bunch. Now having checked box office records internationally, the movie is a massive success, and it is yet to come out in the States and across Europe fully. Little annoyed with some triggered Synderverse morons who are downvoting the movie on IMDB just to get back at Warner Bros about them not wanting to make Justice League 2. Film is not even made by Warner Bros, they are only distributing it, and I like both properties, this though is not the way to get the point across. Oh well, I digress. Greatest Kaiju movie I have seen, seems like a theme park ride at times and worth the watch if you're into big monsters fighting.

Without spoiling it, what did you think of the fights?
Absorbing. The CGI was incredible. They really showcased the best attributes of both titans. Raw Power VS also Power but intelligence. I kind of thought the first fight was unfair before you know who got you know what but it was a tremendous fight nevertheless.

Kong still gave Godzilla a brutal fight, he went down swinging and even Godzilla acknowledged that it was the first time someone pushed him so hard and still refused to yield. He does end up saving Godzilla at the end though.
Yeah I guess you're right.

Yes, the two were not just CGI monsters, but true characters, and we got to see them both have their moments for sure. Agree with you regarding the first fight, which was kind of obviously giving an unfair advantage to one of them because of where it was happening. The main event in Hong Kong to me was the real showdown where there was no obvious advantage like what we saw in the first fight.

EPIC!!!!

Kong may have lost the battle, but godzilla will forever be in Kongs debt as kong saved godzilla. Godzilla is only alive because of Kong.
