Pro's Shock Absorbers?

I was just watching the FO match between Monfils and Nalbandian, and after the point where Monfils threw is racket to try and hit a ball, he changed rackets. The part that i was wondering about it when he took out his new racket it looked like he put on his old shock absorber. Is this normal for pro tennis? I mean its obvious he has the money, i wasn't sure if it was a string thing?

i just wasn't sure if it was a string thing. I know some people have been having problem with the yonex shock absorbers because they break the two mains. but obviously these people aren't using yonex so idk if this carries over

shock absorbers are quite expensive though and it makes sense to change them when you break a string. The Nadal one is about £3-4 in the UK which is around $7????

They most likely change because they dont have them put shock absorbers on every racquet since they restring them daily so it makes more sense not to waste time taking them off and then putting them back on since they most likely wont go through all their racquets

that seems like a reasonable answer

Yeah I agree, that seems the most likely, why bother having loads of them, it only takes 2 seconds to switch it

Yeah, that's what I thoughht. I know a lot of players do this.

Not saying that they are doing this for the same reason but...

I have one dampener that is worn out and doesn't quite push the two main strings apart too much and I prefer it over any new dampener I have used.

It'd be more practical to just have the dampener put onto each racket, than to take it off and reapply the same one to different rackets. Obviously there's a psychological issue.
