this atrocity of a tennis shoe

I'm a bit in shock that cole hahn has actually tried to delve headless into the tennis shoe market....
It seems that their production team and marketing team really just threw in the towel on this one, tennis shoe is the last thing I would think when I saw this shoe given the traction, marketing campaign, design... this list goes on
any thoughts?

This is on the level of Lacoste, only thing they have going for them is Medvedev wears it. Take him out, it goes straight to the bargain bin of TJ Max. This cole haan shoe looks like something you’d wear to the beach.

The shoe design aside, I had a good chuckle at the models and how they were photographed on court. Form and grip appear to be nonfactors here. LOL. Doesn't paint a picture of a high performing shoe.

Not offended by this they clearly indicate this shoe is made for the individual who would play tennis with a sweater around his waist.

$130.
Still probably better than spending $400 on Fed's ugly ON shoes.

Cole Haan is a Nike company, much like Converse is a Nike company. Converse also put out a Jack Purcell EVO tennis shoe a few years ago, but the purpose of these Cole Haan and Converse releases is to give their consumer base, who don't really shop for Cages/Barricades, want big logos, or are serious tennis players, some options.

Cole Haan is not linked to nike since 2012, when Apax Partners bought it.

Nike used to own Cole Haan. Maybe some of the designers stayed on during that time.......

Even though Nike doesn't technically own Cole Haan, much of its leadership, including its CEO, Jack Boys, came from Nike/Converse.

Jack Boys and David Maddocks bought Converse 3 years before they sold it to nike. They are not nike people. They just had a short partnership with the swoosh brand.

Who or what is Cole Haan?

Atrocities have to be attributed...
Cole Haan is a men’s shoe brand in the USA. For a long time Nike owned them and brought over Nike tech to the brand. Nike sold Cole Haan off and they are now offering a tennis shoe. Looks okay to me. Doesn’t look like it would last long on a hard court and is more for leisure wear. No big deal.

Not exactly, Lacoste was originally a tennis brand.

They look like a good casual shoe w/tennis inspiration I wouldn't trust them on court for aggressive play. Cole Haan has used Nike Tech in the past due to a partnership or ownership so this is not surprising. I see shoes being built like cars, the underlying chasis can be used across many brands, they just change the outside look (Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura even BMW and Toyota)
