Bill Clinton doesn't want his wife to win....

He wants his wife to win the nomination, however, he might be (I hope) ruining her chances with his loud mouth.

One thing we don't need is another Clinton in the white house. Hillary is out of touch with our country.

H. Clinton isn't that bad looking after watching some youtube vids with its not-so-high quality.

Bill wants his wife to win but the Republicans want Obama...for two reasons.

1) Skin Color. The good ol boys would come out in droves. Obama would be a dream come true for Republicans. He's the only Democrat they would have a shot at beating after 8 years of Bush. Look for the Murdoch media machine to keep painting Bill Clinton as a crazy racist. If they can get rid of the Clintons now, the prize is Obama. If Goldwater, Nixon, and Reagan were still alive, they would be salivating at the chance to run against an African American. Google "Southern Strategy". They have not spent 40+ years cultivating Red State racism for nothing.
2) October Surprise. Unlike team Clinton, Obama has ZERO foreign policy experience. Conveniently timed trouble from Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, or Al Qaeda would sink Obama. It would take one 24 hour October news cycle to deliver the country to McCain.

Also: the Clintons know how to fight dirty. They have a machine in place and they're prepared for a bar fight. Obama is too nice. He's got less fight in him than Kerry or Gore. Two words: easy pickins.

FYI: If the Republicans want to rebuild their base, look for them to punt and go back to their 90's role as scandal mongers. In this case, Hillary would be their choice. Hate -- hating the Clintons especially -- is perhaps the one thing that would reunite the Fundies and the Libertarians (...these two groups have always been hard to hold under the same tent). Secondly, why not hand the recession, the high oil prices, and the Iraq mess to Hillary (-do the Republicans really want to lie in the bed they made for another 4 years?). Hillary-hate is the quickest way to repair the damage Bush has done to the party. They could re-take congress and rebuild the Neanderthal Hannity crowd for Jeb in 2012.

seriously? you sound like that chauvinist, Romney, with your verbatim quote.

How so? He doesn't support H.Clinton for a valid reason. There's no evidence from his post that he's a chauvinist. It's like calling someone a racist for not supporting Obama. Doesn't make much sense.

I think romney is more out of touch than anyone else, did anyone see the episode of the colbert report where they showed a video of romney posing with a group of black people and then he goes "who let the dogs out? who? who?"

^^ Good point Lethal. Based on quest's bumper sticker statement, I guess I'm not mainstream these days and that, I believe, is a good thing and something to be proud of.

just had to say that.

I reached the identical conclusion. He is undermining her efforts at every turn. I suspect he doesn't fully understand his complex motivations. Hillary's managers should lock him up. :) On the other hand, I much prefer Obama, so let him loose!! It's helping Obama!!!!

slick willy wants to make the competition about race and experience. He'll go to any lengths to cap obama in the knees.

obama has no concrete plans, no track record, little voting record, and zero experience for the job.

How else does one old school mixed record liberal attack an intelligent well spoken black "change" liberal.

Around the water cooler I have heard some interesting conversations. One good question I heard was what the heck would bills role be in a Hilary white house?

I think Hilary's campaign would be better off if Bill went on a 3 month cruise to Alaska, and Greece.

The good cop bad cop is getting old and it's completely transparent and people realize what they are doing. I think Hilary has a good chance of winning all the large states delegates, and the nomination if she stays on script.

forgot to add my reasons why she'll win the large states. Hilary still has a numbers edge with white voters and the growing Hispanic/Latin population, and other minorities.

It's in part remnants of Spanish imperialism, and latent racism in the Hispanic community but even if Barack was a better choice for their community I don't think they'd vote for a black guy. I'm not saying he is the best candidate for that populace as I'm not sure what their major concerns are, but from my experience and looking at the numbers I think in a two person race Hilary would win 95% of the Latin/Hispanic female vote.

I don't think many Hispanics will vote for Obama either unless I'm missing something. Blacks and Hispanics have some serious issues dividing them in Florida, Texas, and California.

You're right, polls show that Hispanics favor Hillary four to one over Obama. This could cause problems for the Obama camp in California and other South-Western states. However, as long as Obama captures the African-American vote, which he appears to be doing, and continues to gain support from whites, he could still win the nomination without much Hispanic support. The reason being, though Hispanics are the largest minorty in the nation, they tend not to vote in high numbers. Fewer Hispanics vote than Blacks, despite the fact there are more of them. So, the Hispanic vote, though helpful, isn't as imporant as their numbers suggest.

if you've read his book 'My Life' I think it's possible for Clinton to want Barack to win. It seems he almost feels guilty about injustice towards blacks growing up in Arkansas.

I disagree. Hilary knows this very well, that on a very large part, she is running on Bill Clinton's legacy. With speeches like, "we will go back to the policies of the 90s," the point couldn't be clearer.
I have to say that I am rather fond of Bill Clinton's legacy.
In terms dirty politics, Bill Clinton has plenty of experiences. He's taken it, and he's also dished 'em out.

Wow! You really went out on a limb there, didn't you? "It'll be Obama ... or Hillary."

Way to stick your neck out.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear. I did not mean to say "here are the two options", rather, I meant to say "here is how I see the two Democratic options playing out", i.e., each comes with a different set of consequences for the GOP. What I meant to convey in the final part was: Hillary would be ideal if they wanted to lose and rebuild their base and congressional power out of Clinton-hate. If we are headed for a protracted downturn, perhaps this would be an acceptable time to punt and back the Clintons up to the 5 yrd line. This would, IMO, give them better field position in 2012 than occupying the White House with TERRIBLE field position (e.g., recession, Iraq stalemate). Lastly -- and this is an addition to my original statement -- Obama is, IMO, less polarizing than Billary and therefore harder to hate openly (race is a touchy issue, so it's hard to go at it directly). Which is to say, Obama, IMO, gives Limbaugh less material (and, after 8 years of a less than stellar presidency, the GOP needs a more tangible political enemy to stir the base and prevent a larger fracture between say the Fundies and Libertarians, i.e., it's tough to keep a diverse coalition under the same tent, but hating the Clintons is something people share.)
