Hi guys,

Im looking into getting the a KBlade or MG Prestige

However i want quite a powerful racket so judging by reviews it seems like the KBlade 98 and the MG MP are the most powerful out of those models. Anybody want to conform this for me?

So really i am open to advice but i do believe these 2 would be the best for me si what are people's opinions on them

You can vote more than once so preferably i would want you to vote for the most powerful wilson and head and then say below which has more power out of the wilson and head.

Any help would be much appreciated

I personally play the K Blade Tour which is plenty powerful for me (I take long cuts) but for most, the K blade 98 and MG Prestige Pro would be the more powerful sticks with the edge going to the MG Prestige Pro.

Ok thankyou thejuice. I have short windscreen shots with a western grip so a powerful racket means a lot to me.

hi, sorry to have to say this again but-None of these rackets are "powerful" in comparison to most. Out of those though, you'd probably be looking at the Prestige MP or pro.

I disagree with you. I think the MG Prestige Pro has somewhat tweener like power with player's stick control.

If you have those sort of strokes then the only fames from that list you should consider are the MG Prestige Pro and K Blade 98 (at a push) IMO...

Really? I gotta re-disagree with you here mate :), Maybe you felt this since you're going from a k-blade tour? I've only hit with the pro for a small amount of time but i'd say it has marginally more power than the MP (I've been using the FXP MP recently with abit of lead) But wouldn't describe it as "powerful" unless it was a comparison between the k-blade tour (I'll get to hit with one of these soon aswell!)

Well your re-disagreeance is duly noted. I actually demoed the Prestige Pro before I ever put my hands on the KBT and thought the Pro was a powerful stick but it may be because I think 16*19 frames are more powerful in my hands.

if you need power neither of these rackets will do. You have to take huge cuts at the ball to generate anything with both sets of frames. I would try the head extreme, any babolat, or the prince white/black lines based on your swing. A good friend just switched from the pog to the extreme pro and picked up a ton of pace. Or look at the nBlade, it plays with much more power than either kBlade.

And your reason??

Im not a bad player. I may not have the "perfect" technique but im sure not many actually do

Wasn't it proven that a 10% drop in tension makes a negligable difference. Sorry mate not trying to bug you here. It seems as though you are set on a k-blade or prestige yet the characteristics you're asking for just don't really describe the sticks you're asking about!

I suppose your right but there are no other rackets that seem worth trying. These 2 are popular and i have had head/wilsons in the past and nothing else. I mean i was looking into Tecnifibres but arent meant to be any more powerful than the above and my machine wont be able to string the Prince Speedport Tour as well as all the others 03's

Im not calling you a bad player at all...those are all low powered frames which are best suited to longer more "old school" strokes. If you have a "modern" forehand with a short backswing you might be better off with a racket like the pure drive. Plus coming from the LM OS its a very big jump.

I have to agree with JonnyF...

Your machine is fine for the O3's/Speedports...im sure you can find a boomerang tool.

BTW...picking the O3 Tour Mid's up 2moro from the post office...will then string them up with PSGD and head to the courts...playing a county player (woman) and then have a performance squad so should get in some decent time with the frame..

By picking them up from post office does that mean you have to pay customs? Hope you like them as i might just buy one if your review is good of them as they are quite cheap.

What would happen if i string one of the above quite low eg 50 to compensate for the lack of power or would that not work?

I say just try the sticks out that you're interested in because your short strokes doesn't necessarily mean they won't be able to supply you any power with these frames. Short and fast could definitely work with the 98 in frames you asked about. I would also recommend the Bab PD or APD line as suggested by an earlier post.

No I was out when parcel force came...no customs. They came frum the EU anyway so having to pay customs is unlikely...from US there would be a charge (prob around £40 for the size of the pack I just picked up).

I don't really think stringing low would help much...the power would increase by less than 1MPH on your shot but you would feel like you have lost control.

I have the frames in hand now...just about to put heat sleves on them (make 5/8 and add some more mass to handle)then string with BB Original M's, VS Touch X's on one and full PSGD on the other.

They feel great in hand...nice weight....my fischer are around 345ish (with heat shrink on grips)...the O3 Tour mids should be around 350 with the grip enlargers (like the fischers)...but they feel a bit ligher (more when im motion) because of the O3 holes.

Heading out right now to hit..

oh so not soon:)

Have you finished adding the grip enlarger etc

I also thought you were size 4 1/2. Have your hands grown or are the grip sizes smaller than head and wilson etc?

Just got back from hitting :)...all I can say its a great frame...really impressed with it. Its the best prince frame I have ever used...

I use 5/8th in fischer and the prince feels about the same with the grip enlarger...my K90s were grip L4 and they were too small.

Will try and post the review sometime tonight if I can..

Ive been playing around with the sticks again...the heat sleves added way too much weight and they swing too heavy...so I removed them and built up by just winding gaffer tape around the handle...its even better now and feels more like a 5/8th wilson plus is back at the normal 340g weight.

Gonna leave writing the review until thursday night...I am having one of my regular hits with a LTA3.2 rated guy so can get a better feel for the frame "stock" in the morning.

I strung 1 with SPPP 1.23 and another with VS/OG Micro...both setups feel great so far...think im gonna buy a reel of SPPP in the next 2 days.

Nick - what was the power like on it?

Also is this a permanent move do you reckon or do you still need more time to decide

Power was really good...my coach says he has never seen me hit so much spin...it was like using the O3 Tour MP but with some control/stability. Volleys were pretty much perfect with this frame.

I think I will switch over but not sure yet...need a few more hits/different string combo's. The SPPP feels good..

Never heard you comment on SPPP. I thought you thought it was just ordinary.

What did you find different with the 95 and 100" head? (MS vs MP)??

The Mid has:

- More contol
- Better stability
- Solid on volleys
- Serves bigger
- Nearly as much spin
- Really good feel (the 100" has soft grommets...95 comes with hard)
- SW is more comfortable for me
- Bit stiffer

100" feels softer, offers more spin potential and is more comfortable. It just lacks feel and "pop" for me.

Is this racket a string eater? or is that just the 100"

I want to take a gamble and probably buy the Mid but i cant see it anywhere for cheap however i can see the MP with the 100" head. Would it be worth buying the 100" for like £40 or should i put my money elsewhere?

No the 100" is a great stick...a good move from the LM OS too. For £40 its a great buy...

I really like the MP..used it for a few months last year.

The mid is ok..my gut is fraying badly after 1.30hrs...both are fine with poly.

Ps..I just got a string deal with Pacific!

But if you had a choice you would get the 95 head.

How did you get the deal. What does they offer you??

I string rackets for a Volkl Sponsored pro who is heavily involved with BB and Volkl...a contact of his has just got a position high up in pacific and wants to promote the strings at our clubs...not sure what they will be offering..will be talking with them next week.

Cool. Are you still with Pro Supex.

I emailed them and they sent me an email with all the prices. However you have to do a 1st buy of over $150 which for me i cant. However there is a big difference in the prices for USRSA members and non members. What price do you get for say 200m big ace?

Also i want a deal with Topspin so i can buy, sell and use their strings however they dont have a site, or do they?

You can get Topspin strings from Pro Supex USA..

I don't think I will be ordering any more pro supex strings..

Why have you stopped liking their strings? I emailed them and they said that because you get a discount that it would be ok if you ordered them for me but got them posted to me. Would you be prepared to do that for me maybe in the future if i paid you in advance?

Yeah I could do that...im sure we can work something out..I need to order some stuff in the next month anyway.

Ive gone off most of their strings and think id rather pay more for extra performance....most of my customers like luxilon and brand names better...plus the shipping is really high frum US.

Nick

I would really try a low powered racquet because of all the weight already in those racquets but the larger the head size supposingly the bigger the sweet spot.
