Does the qualities of the string change when playing outdoors?

I have been playing indoors and testing different strings throughout most of winter. I found I really liked the BB ALU/NXT hybrid. Now that I am playing outside for my school team, will the qualities of the string change at all?? For example, less/more power? more/less spin? control?

Also: are there any string that are great for these rough conditions this time of year? are there any specific string that do not play well in the rough conditions? Polys? Multi? Synt?

When I play indoors, pretty much everything is great...

But, when I play outdoors in colder weather, I don't feel the ball coming off the strings, nor the ever-so-confidence-building THWAP!!! sound when you hit a good, clean ball...

In colder weather, the strings will feel stiffer, in my experience, and most other people...

YES, it does play different. I felt like outdoors, Strings will go Mushy and start to feel DEAD alot sooner than indoors. i had this problem with Poly strings like Pro hurr tour last summer

Ive found that I like polys/hybrids indoors and softer strings outdoors (syn gut, natural gut)...the polys just done have any pop outside and feel very dead.

Well I guess they are using new strings every few games plus they hit the ball much harder than us...to me polys (even when fresh) feel like complete junk outside..even more so on artificial grass. I cant get any power, depth or touch. On my local hard courts in the summer my arm was killing me using any sort of poly...they just dont feel right out there.

thanks a lot. yea this explains alot because I am feeling like a cant get any pop or power on my groundies. do you suggest using a multi or a good synthetic gut?

Try a decent synthetic gut at the tension you are using for the NXT...it will feel great outdoors.

I am thinking about going all Multi this summer like YONEX pro tour 850. or hybrid with Kirschbaum Proline 2 since proline has so much power, it is not as bad as other polys when it get HOT outside.
