Customizing a K90?

Could you please suggest me some any mod I can apport to my K90 to enhance the power, without compromising the weight too much? This includes even strings. Thanks.

P.S. My signature says "Sensation" but I'm actually switching to K-Gut Pro next week.

if you want more power, stay away from the k gut pro, that is a pure control string. try champs choice with the gut in the mains, will be sweet, or any kind of hybrid with alu power and a very soft string mixed. or like the guy said above, try a full string bed of gut, but will be expensive

try natural gut @ 50 pounds. when i strung natural gut @54 i was overhitting by a couple of feet.

Stringing at a lower tension will just add more power and make those hits out even further.

With that it mind, I string Klip Legend at 51 on my K90 and have no problems :)

lower tensions seem to work well with that racket. we had our shop demo strung in head inteligence, played better the longer it was in!

Add 3 grams of lead to 12:00

Altough 3 grams is not a significant increase in static weight, being placed at 12 o'clock will increase the swingweight by 10 kg.cm². Be carefull of any kind of modification in weight. The k90 is a not a racquet that has a lot of margin for customisation.

May I ask what is your level, and what kind of player you are?

^^^ Is this photo supposed to prove that there is indeed plenty of room for customization and encourage the OP to go ahead and apply lots of lead to his racquet ?

^^^ Nope not at all, infact the OP stated that he didn't want to increase the weight anymore which would lead me to encourage him to try a nat gut or hot multi as a source for his power instead of weight, while the fact that he is wanting more power with the same weight leads me to believe that he is of a skillset that doesn't allow him to generate sufficient racquethead speed to play his best with this frame in the first place.

The picture was just to show that there is a whole world of players out there, and though certain racquets have more room for customization than others (esp stuff like the pro stock head frames) anything can be tinkered with.

i only see a bit of lead at 12... is the rest of the extra weight in the handle?

It just looks like a bit, that was the trial one, the lead came up to the top of the grommets, and there is an equal amount under the bumper.

There is more under the grip.

In the final versions good tape was used, all of it is under the bumper, and the handles are silicone injected.

I may be wrong but It seemed to me that there was a dose of showing off, in this photo, but above all I found it counterproductive in relation to the OP’s original question.

However I absolutely agree with the above statement. This was exactly what I was thinking when I asked him about his level of play.

There is a way to increase the power level of the k90 with practically no increase in static weight but the increase in swingweight is more than noticeable. I use this setup in my k90s.

I wanted to have all the elements (lukarf skill level) before making this suggestion, because my experience tells me that, as you also said, if he finds that his ground stokes lack power he shouldn’t be playing with this stick in the first place
