Here is the poll you've been asking for.

I am in torn over this. The heart says one, the head says none.

i think nadal will get the FO this year. but federer should be doing better by wimbledon to get it and then probably the us open too.

I have to go with Caulcano on this one. Fed still looks like he is a little tired out there, better than earlier in the year but still tired in movement (BTW clicked 0 by mistake).

I say 2, French Open and U.S Open.
Wibledon is between Nadal, Joker and Roddick, although Fed will get to the quarters or semis.

He's obviously not up to par right now, but there's time to get back on track by Wimbledon, and certainly by USO time.

I am sure you guys are heavily underestimating him. I am no fan of his but he can turn around things easily, I think he will pop one slam, one of the last two - uso or wimby.

Fed is the Tiger Woods of tennis. When Tiger goes a few tourneys without a win, everyone says he's washed up and the field will catch him. What happens when they say that, TIger comes back even stronger and wins 5 or 6 straight tournaments and a couple of majors (he's done that twice in his career). I know golf is a sport that isn't as physically taxing but Fed didn't look that tired, he looked like he might have lost a little confidence which means he's human and not indestructible. All he needs is to win a tourney before the FO or the big W and he will be back on track.

Federer is an unbelievable player but he has been very beatable this year. He does not look like the Federer of previous years but he will win 1 slam this year: Wimbledon.

I think his best chance is Wimbledon. Too many good guys on hardcourt, the competition is fierce. I think the Us Open is between Roddick and Djokovic.

i reckon he might win french, he has been working really hard with his technqiue and really wants to win, also wimbledon. Dont no about us open, i think anyone could win that as there are so many dominant players who could win.

1 and it will probably be Wimbledon unless Nadal or Djokovic have something to say about that. Djokovic I believe will take the US Open and Nadal the French Open.

hmmm fed will win wimbledon know one will touch him on grass, though us open could be tricky... if he applies his game well he will be unbeatable again.

I guess zero...

AO: I get the feeling that Djokovic will take it :)

FO: Fed's movement has declined, and he is increasingly reliant on his serve, so I don't see the FO as his. Nadal is my favorite here.

Wimbeldon: Fed's best chance. However, I give it to Nadal since he is increasingly doing better at Wimbledon --- and just a little better than last year would mean winning !!!

U.S. Open: The hard court has been a significant bust for Federer so far this year, so I don't consider Fed a favorite for the U.S. Open. Djokovic, Murray and Roddick all have defeated Federer on the hard courts --- look to any one of them as pulling off the victory.

Are you unsure?

I dont post something unless im sure buddy..

Federer may win Wimbledon, thats it. I dont see him beating Djokovic at the US Open does it happen, and im sure that Nole will reach the final, so.. Wimbledon is the one and only slam i see Federer MAYBE winning.

That's very true. Fed has made many tennis fan enemies, unintentionally, and it's not really a bad thing that he's done to get it. People are just annoyed with his dominance. It's like half of the world hating red cars, the other half hating blue cars. If some red cars in the world start junking out, then the haters will be like "oh see, they do suck!"

I cannot believe all of you. This Roger!!!!
He' fallen a little bit right that's true, but I am sur he will be ready for the Wimbledon Champ. and the US Open. He will equal Pete Sampras this years.

I think he will win at least one slam this year and my guess is it will be the French :)

He's a favorite at Wimby, but he wants the French so bad, that he will do anything to win that slam this year.

firstly, I am a fan of Federer.

but what you said is not convincing. Tennis and golf are two different sports, probably very different in physical demand. When does a tennis pro peak? most about 25 or 26. when does a golf pro peak, 40 over years.
Tiger has a long good career in front of him. So he had a slump years ago, it was no doubt he would be back. But you can't say the same for tennis pros once you pass your peak, which is so much earlier.

and you don't have to LOOK tired to move poorly.

But as someone posted earlier, he is relying on his serve too much these days. I think he chose the right strategy to rely on serve more as he ages, but currently he is a little over the bar. I say this is the bad effects of playing exos against Sampras and listen to him. His idol will give advices, but also remember his idol lived in different generations.

Of the 3 remaining he has the least chance to win the FO. I said before and I'll say it again. If he's making these many errors and shanks off the frame on hardcourt (which has predictable bounces) then on clay where the ball bounces higher and also has bad bounces will only be a recipe for disaster for Fed. But grass can still be good for him. However, if he keeps playing like this for the rest of the year I would not be surprised if he didn't win any.

Losing to an in form Joker is one thing, but losing badly to Mardy Fish and then to your "ex-b1tch" Roddick is a completely different thing. Fed is in some deep trouble. More than people would like to accept. His confidence must be at an all time low right now. Heading into his worst surface with low confidence is not going to help matters. But people want to believe there's a Santa Claus and say that Fed is losing on purpose or is saving himself for slams. I guess he forgot to take AO seriously. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers (at least not on this particular post) but competition is fierce and Nadal/Joker smell blood. I wouldn't be shocked if Nadal wins the FO again and Joker takes the USO. At this very moment I would pick that and I'm sure many more objective minds would do so as well. Wimbledon is still up in the air. But it's no longer an automatic.

i think roger will feel much more mental pressure at wimbledon than at the french open. at this level of his current performance, not many people will expect him win french and thus no pressure.

if he somehow get to the final of french open again, it will be huge confidence booster for roger and enormous pressure for nadal(assuming he will be in the final again).

then again if roger does sub-par clay season, there will be a huge pressure mounted for roger at wimbledon.

the epic battle is ahead of us in the next couple of months, folks. sit back and enjoy....

Firstly I'm a Federer fan as well. I don't see it this way, I think there's more pressure to win the French because he's running out of time and opportunities. I don't see him winning this as he closes in on 30 while people like Nadal who is playing peak tennis right now and deadly contenders like Davydenko and Nalbandian are in the way. These are just to name a few. Acasuso is a threat on clay along with Almagro. Djokovic can play well on clay. If Federer plays sub-par tennis into the clay I can't see him winning anything to be honest. I think he should focus on winning Wimbledon for the next 2 years. Too many contenders on claycourt and hardcourt. He needs to be in tip top form to win on those and he's not in shape, or championship shape. I would love to see him win France but his best chances were in the last three years.

I liked your analysis man.. Agreed with most of it.

Federer will need to play some great tennis at Wimbledon if he hopes to get somewhere. Novak played some great last wimbledon and was unfortunatly plaqued with injuries afters days of play. Nadal was a real force in the final against Federer and at many times, im sure most would agree played much better than Federer.

Federer wont get the french open, has a good chance at wimbledon, but i dont see him taking the us again.

If Fed gets back to form and wins 1 slam a year for the next 5 years, that still passes Sampras. I hope he can do this.

I'm also a huge fan of Fed and I have to vote for no slams this year.
His fitness is maybe the lowest on the tour right now? people call nalbandian fat but feds belly is looking bigger and bigger. If it's true he's going to be a father his motivation might sink even more. None of us have the answer to whats happened to him. The mono is a huge setback but his personallife might ba a big factor to.

I don't see him winning the french this year sadly. If he can get his movement back he's the best player no doubt so maybe he can take us open.

I dont think he did this, I think it is so common and expected - if you are number one for so long you are bound to be loved&hated from many around the world. This is just normal and he is one guy who handled this well thru the years. It got to him eventually but I think this is not what caused this years form which is clearly not as good as it was.

You might want to look at other common examples. Many hate Nadal even more because he was up and coming and he is also a great guy and excelent tennis player but many do hate him just because he was a threat to the nr1. Djokovic also. Anyone who acomplished this clime and got to the top had to face this - look at Safin, Hewitt, Roddick .. Nothing unusual in that.

Pressure is not created only from external sources. He expects to win the French at least once in his career and thats what will cause most of the pressure in France - this and chances of him taking the RG being slimer as the years go by.

With his overall form droping and him not being in the best shape of his life ( seems he gained weight and is late a half step lately ) - this years clay season will be a real test. I sincerly doubt he can pull an upset in RG.

French: Federer

Wimbledon: Nadal

US : Federer, possibly Djokovic

I am not basing my opinion on any sort of normal logic.

Federer is back !

I say he'll destroy everybody on Wimbi and the US Open and could even get the French.

The match today was so balanced and high level that anything could happens.

Wimbledon and USO in my opinion,so two slams. He has a chance at FO this year(although Nadal of course is the heavy favourite),I think he played the right way today against Nadal but problem is that against Nadal on clay you have to maintain a very high level throughout the whole match,Fed did play brilliant tennis in patches but then Nadal came right back but Roger had the right approach and tactic in my opinion.
