You're the dumbest guy in this forum. Don't you know that before you get to the finals or the medal match in swimming you have to qualify or participate in heats? Don't you know that even if you win a heat but your time is not fast, you still can't compete in the medal round? Don't you know that before you can even reach the Olympics you have to qualify in a zonal games? Don't you know how hard these swimmers train and compete just to be a part of the Olympics? In tennis, your rankings give you the passport to compete. If you're the number one in your country, you can immediately compete unless you refuse. But, in swimming, even though you're the best in the world, if you failed to qualify because you have a slower time, you WON'T be able to compete in the Olympics. Now, don't talk that winning an 8 gold medal in Olympics is just nothing. Phelps may not be the greatest of all time for you, but certainly he's the best in this generation. Oh, by the way, Phelps is not a joke, he's a swimming freak... a fast, a classy, a powerful, a better athlete than those over paid basketball stars, and a humble Olympian.
